Qualis LLC is seeking summer interns to support Missile Defense Agency in Cummings Research Park. Selected interns will participate in a variety of technical areas to ensure full operational availability of the Missile Defense System (MDS) HWIL networks and systems. The mission is to perform network/infrastructure design, house and maintain MDS test assets, maintain Cybersecurity compliance, and perform lab asset management to realistically emulate/simulate the complex weapon systems of the MDS in support of Ground Testing and Flight Test Risk Reduction activities. The MDS lab assets include guided missiles and space vehicles tactical hardware and software. Under additional Task Instructions, the center is being expanded to include new sensors and tactical systems, network modernization to support continuous testing and rapid reconfiguration, as well as other improvements such as improved health and status monitoring.

Requirements:

• Candidate must be currently enrolled and pursuing an accredited college degree
• Candidate must be a junior or senior level

Potential Projects:

• Complete lab element connectivity drawings

• Assist in maintaining spreadsheets for testcase checklist, daily lab activities, ARC Requests pertaining to ISTC1/ISTC2/PCIL, and software/hardware upgrades 

• Assist with lab usage metrics

Daily/Weekly Tasks:

• Keep weekly slides current

• Escorting (with clearance)
• Maintain project office processes and documentation
• Create communication products and briefings intended for internal use and government customers
• Assist in locating support for troubleshooting efforts related to testing events

Goals/Objectives:

• Become familiar with the Missile Defense System (MDS) architecture, strategy and importance
• Understand the basic program support functions at the Advanced Research Center
• Complete projects that will increase efficiencies at the ARC
• Become more desirable by obtaining real-world DoD/federal experience as well as an active security clearance
• Potential permanent or part-time employment after completion of internship
