Qualis LLC is seeking summer interns to support Missile Defense Agency in Cummings Research Park. Selected interns will participate in a variety of technical areas to ensure full operational availability of the Missile Defense System (MDS) HWIL networks and systems. The mission is to perform network/infrastructure design, house and maintain MDS test assets, maintain Cybersecurity compliance, and perform lab asset management to realistically emulate/simulate the complex weapon systems of the MDS in support of Ground Testing and Flight Test Risk Reduction activities. The MDS lab assets include guided missiles and space vehicles tactical hardware and software. Under additional Task Instructions, the center is being expanded to include new sensors and tactical systems, network modernization to support continuous testing and rapid reconfiguration, as well as other improvements such as improved health and status monitoring.

(Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance)

• Candidate must be currently enrolled and pursuing an accredited college degree
• Candidate must be a junior or senior level

Potential Projects:

• Automation of SQL Documentation and STIG Compliance: Automate SQL Server documentation using scripting and ensure STIG compliance, utilizing PowerStig, PowerShell and the Database Engine Tuning Advisor
• SQL Query Creation and Data Analysis: Create SQL queries for the ServiceDesk database, analyze data for trends, and apply SQL functions
• Custom Solution Design and Implementation: Assistance with custom solution design and implementation focused specifically on automated reporting for root cause analysis, resource usage and time to resolution forecasting

Daily/Weekly Tasks:

• Contribute to CDRL deliverables
• Maintain project office processes
• Create communication products for internal use and Government customers
• Escorting (with clearance)

Goals/Objectives:

• Become familiar with the Missile Defense System (MDS) architecture, strategy and importance
• Understand the basic program support functions at the ARC
• Complete projects increasing ARC efficiencies
• Become more desirable by obtaining real-world DoD/federal experience as well as an active security clearance
• Potential for permanent employment
