Regional Trade Operations Lead

As Regional Trade Operations Lead you are responsible for supporting the structure and development of existing and new IMPEX departments in the Logistics Region APAC, ensuring smooth import and export operations of all inbound and outbound cargo connected to the markets in Logistics Region APAC.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow-up regional Trade Operations and related performance KPIs, including cross-border related inbound, outbound, returns and DC move flows (excluding Transit and duty KPIs led by Central Trade team).
  • Define and follow-up regional Trade operational goals and priorities
  • Responsible to define and follow-up the regional Trade budget,  also taking responsibility for finance and report control on all IMPEX in the Logistics Region, including duty and Trade Operations related invoice control.
  • Lead regional trade security & risk management programs.
  • Support new initiatives and project related to trade operation
  • Lead the collaboration with IMPEX teams in the Logistics Region, incl. follow-up overall Trade operations and KPI’s for takt, operational cost etc.
  • Support and coach IMPEX Managers in areas such as Import cargo management, IMPEX related issues (e.g. missing cargo, insurance cases), customs document management, customer clearance management, trade service provider management, invoice control, re-export handling etc.
  • Support in establishing new IMPEX teams and strengthening as-is IMPEX team based on expansions impacting trade in the Logistics Region.
  • Coordinate regional Inland Haulage (port to DC) Transport Operations and related performance.
  • Monitor handling of all customs formalities to ensure compliance with latest legal requirements.
  • Lead activities to improve Trade operational excellence and compliance, to secure stable trade operations within defined global operational and tech standards, balancing cost, service levels and sustainability impact with consideration to end-to-end flows.
  • Support in Trade related procurements led by the regional transport & trade commercial team.
  • Responsible for frequent follow-up of Trade suppliers on KPIs and compliance, highlighting trends, problems, opportunities and status of agreed targets and SLAs.
  • Monitor Product Classification Data quality (HS codes) and follow-up ongoing data quality.
  • Actively stay up-to-date on global logistics end-to-end operational status, KPIs, issues and risks.
  • Identify sustainability opportunities and challenges from a social, economic and environmental perspective.
  • Experience in customs clearance of products in H&M’s assortment.
  • Previously operational experience in an IMPEX or Transit department team
  • Eagerness to help and support in all related areas to set up a new IMPEX department
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • A pragmatic and full hands-on approach as well as a flexible attitude to ad-hoc tasks
  • Good communication skills.
  • Figure minded.
  • Good IT knowledge (SAP, KL, Microsoft office).
  • Fit for a fast paced, high pressure and deadline sensitive environment.
  • Leading team experience and have good coaching, result-driven skills
  • Experience in managing multiple countries and different culture team

This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible with direct reporting line to the Regional Transport & Trade Operations Manager.
