Writing Tutor with ABA Training - Early Elementary

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Beaumont, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Beaumont, CA
• Schedule: 15 hours, 1 session a week for 1.15 hours
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Credentialed teacher with strong experience teaching early elementary writing skills.
• ABA-trained tutor with the ability to support task avoidance, frustration tolerance, and engagement.
• Strong background in foundational writing instruction, including handwriting, sentence structure, phonemic awareness, sight words, and language conventions.
• Bubbly, energetic, and encouraging, while also able to provide firm, consistent redirection when needed.
• Skilled in using positive reinforcement, structured routines, and behavior-support strategies.
• Creative and flexible, with the ability to incorporate student interests (e.g., video games) to increase motivation.
• Patient and supportive, with experience working with students with autism and related services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized writing instruction focused on handwriting, sentence starters, sentence expansion, and written expression.
• Implement a structured writing curriculum to build foundational writing skills.
• Support phonemic awareness, sight words, and language conventions as part of writing development.
• Use ABA-informed strategies to address task avoidance, frustration, and disengagement.
• Maintain a positive, structured learning environment with clear expectations and reinforcement.
• Incorporate motivating interests and engaging activities to encourage participation and persistence.
• Collaborate with existing supports (e.g., speech services) as appropriate to reinforce skill development.
• Track progress and adjust instructional strategies to support continued growth in writing.
