To write articles, letters, op-eds, blog posts, and other pieces for both in-house and external publishing venues to help promote the goals of the organization
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Write op-eds and columns about animal rights issues
- Create written content uniquely designed for PETA’s blog and accounts on various social media platforms
- Draft reports, leaflets, and correspondence
- Prepare PETA news releases, advisories, and media alerts to go out to the media in Asia
- Edit other staffers’ writing
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
- Some professional writing experience preferred, which may include writing for newspapers, magazines, other publications, or the internet
- A thorough knowledge of animal rights issues
- Demonstrated exceptional written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to handle many tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
- Demonstrated support for PETA’s philosophy and the ability to advocate for the organization’s positions on issues professionally
- Commitment to the objectives of the organization
- Must be based in the Philippines
