We are looking for an experienced Workshop Technician to join our Te Kuiti workshop team. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our fleet is serviced, maintained and repaired to a high standard, safely and efficiently.  Your day-to-day will include:

  • Carry out maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy diesel equipment, including trucks, excavators, loaders, and other construction machinery
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify any issues proactively on our plant & equipment.
  • Some off site service/repairs as required.
  • Maintaining a tidy, well-organised, and efficient workshop
  • Working closely with both internal and external teams to keep operations running smoothly
  • Leading by example in health & safety, quality standards, and Zero Harm principles

You are a practical, hands-on technician who takes pride in your workmanship and enjoys being part of a supportive, team-focused environment.  You are organised, safety-conscious, and communicate clearly with those around you. Ideally, you will bring:

  • A NZ Certificate in Heavy Automotive Diesel Engineering (Plant & Equipment or Road Transport)
  • Experience in the heavy transport or construction industry (highly regarded)
  • A clean current NZ driver’s licence minimum Class 4, (Class 5 and WTR & F endorsements advantageous)
  • A high standard of workmanship with accurate reporting and paperwork completion
  • Auto electrical experience would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, a solid work ethic, and good time management
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and a positive, team-first attitude
  • Proven experience as Diesel mechanic
