Are you passionate about healthcare innovation and marketing? We are looking for a motivated Working Student to join our Cranial Surgery Product Management & Marketing team.

As the central hub for Brainlab technologies supporting cranial procedures, our team focuses on improving the entire surgical workflow and ensuring smooth integration of products used before, during, and after surgery.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and product strategy. You will contribute to projects that shape how neurosurgical tools are evaluated, positioned, developed, and marketed. By collaborating with Product Managers, R&D, Sales, clinical experts, and others, you will gain hands-on insight into how advanced medical technologies are researched, analyzed, and translated into meaningful clinical value.

This position offers the chance to deepen your technical understanding, develop strong analytical and communication skills, and play a part in improving surgical outcomes for patients worldwide.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of Brainlab’s product portfolio and underlying technologies.
  • Continuously monitor competitor products, state-of-the-art technologies, and market trends in Cranial Navigation across the pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.
  • Translate competitor insights into clear summaries and comparisons for Product Management and Sales.
  • Explain complex technical details and clinical workflows in a simple, useful way, and present findings to cross-functional teams (Sales, R&D, Clinical, Marketing) in a clear and structured manner.
  • Support product development teams with detailed technical research when needed.
  • Create and update Excel reports, turn market data into clear recommendations, and ensure all information is accurate and well-organized.
  • Support product managers in various daily tasks, such as preparing presentations, updating documents, or maintaining detailed product descriptions.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Sales, Clinical Specialists, and R&D teams to align insights with product strategy.
  • You are currently studying engineering, a technical field, or a related discipline, ideally with a focus on MedTech (i.e., Biomedical Engineering).
  • A good understanding of surgical imaging systems, navigation platforms, neurosurgical workflows, and medical device technology is a big plus.
  • Able to read and understand detailed technical documents, patents, clinical papers, and product specifications.
  • Comfortable judging how technology works and how it affects clinical use.
  • Basic data analysis skills in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Charts, formulas) are a plus.
  • Ability to create clear, visually polished, and professional presentation materials with attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise insights.
  • Curiosity and motivation to continuously learn new technologies and their clinical applications.
  • Comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment while collaborating across multiple teams.
  • Motivation to support product managers with all aspects of the product life cycle.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus.
