Job Description

As the Workforce Planner, you will be the backbone of our operational scheduling. You'll be responsible for creating and managing fair, effective rosters that keep us aligned with production needs and, most importantly, all regulatory and award compliance. This role is crucial in ensuring we have the right people with the right skills in the right place, making a real impact on our day-to-day business.

This role is based in Karawatha, Brisbane and reporting to the Workforce Planning and Training Manager.

You will…

  • Develop and publish clear, compliant rosters in line with operational requirements, Company policy, and relevant Awards.
  • Be the go-to expert for our workforce management system, providing hands-on training and support to our team leaders and employees.
  • Manage changes to work schedules and employee leave requests in close collaboration with department leaders and People Operations.
  • Keep a sharp eye on critical metrics like overtime and student visa hours, proactively flagging changes to management.
  • Prepare detailed and meaningful workforce reports to help your assigned departments make data-driven decisions.
  • Partner with department leaders to quickly spot and fill any labour or skill gaps in the teams.
  • Assist with recruitment activities in line with operational requirements.
  • Maintain a proactive presence and ongoing communication by walking the floor to understand day-to-day workflow realities, staffing challenges, and emerging needs.
  • Provide a human, approachable face to the planning function.

You have/are…

  • Proven experience administering a workforce management or time & attendance system (preferred).
  • An exceptional communicator - both written and verbal.
  • An analytical mind with excellent problem-solving ability and a keen eye for compliance and detail.
  • Naturally high levels of resilience, a professional work ethic, and an approachable, energetic, and flexible attitude.
  • Intermediate skill level in Excel or Google Sheets, with a good technical aptitude for other software and computer systems.
