Wordpress Engineer About the Role Lucid Trading is seeking a Senior WordPress Engineer to join our high-performance, fully remote team. In this role, you’ll own technical execution across mission-critical website systems, drive optimization of our WooCommerce-powered platform, and support the continued growth of one of the fastest-scaling prop trading firms in the industry.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll architect solutions, write clean and maintainable code, optimize performance at scale, and work alongside product, operations, and leadership to push features live rapidly and reliably. You'll also diagnose and resolve high-impact issues ranging from payment failures to API outages—helping ensure traders experience a fast, stable, and secure platform at all times.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-moving environment, understands the operational realities of high-traffic WooCommerce deployments, and brings both creativity and engineering discipline to everything they build. Requirements We are looking for candidates who have experience with the following:
- Developing, maintaining, and optimizing WordPress websites—especially WooCommerce stores processing high transaction volume.
- Deep expertise with WooCommerce and payment gateways (Stripe, Authorize.net, PayPal, and custom integrations).
- Writing clean, scalable code using modern PHP practices (OOP, autoloading, namespacing).
- Strong JavaScript abilities (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6).
- Troubleshooting and resolving payment issues, subscription logic, checkout problems, session handling, and general site instability.
- Collaborating on feature planning, performing code reviews, testing, and participating in rapid deployment cycles.
- Extending WooCommerce functionality through custom plugins, hooks, filters, and REST API integrations.
- Ensuring high performance, security, and reliability across the entire codebase.
- Supporting DevOps tasks including WP-CLI workflows, Linux scripting, debugging production workloads, and handling emergency hotfixes.
- Experience working with Azure, Cloudflare, and distributed systems (bonus for familiarity with MS Service Bus).
- Staying current with emerging tools, AI-driven development workflows, and automation opportunities.
- Strong WordPress architectural knowledge—custom themes, plugins, CPTs, taxonomies, REST endpoints, cron systems, advanced debugging.
- Attention to detail, curiosity, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a highly collaborative environment.
Must Haves
- Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment with high accuracy and tight deadlines.
- Flexibility in working hours—routine maintenance windows and occasional weekends/late nights will be required.

- Comfort operating in a role where rapid experimentation, fast deployments, and iteration are the norm.
