Location: North Vancouver, BC - This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office, and is open to hybrid remote work
Work Arrangement: Flexible, between in-office and home
Pay Range: $44,700 - $55,100/year; pay is dependent on year of study and related experience
Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week, M-F
Your Co-Op Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As a Design Co-Op Student, you support in the creation and design of Women’s apparel product solutions that are in line with Arc’teryx design philosophies and our guests’ needs. You bring your curiosity and passion for production to support the Women’s Design team in building innovative, relevant and resolved design solutions. You work closely with designers and design developers, as well as cross-functional teams to bring designs and concepts to life.

Key areas of focus are trim and material boards, construction mock-ups, design research, tech pack building, and other design support

If you were a Design Co-Op Student now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
Creating and updating design boards, preparing materials, trim swatches, and updating digital presentations
Collaborating with other Design team members to create documentation for design hand offs; gathering technical drawings, materials, trim information details, and references samples
Assisting with documenting seasonal data trends and athlete insights
Assisting with the preparation of internal and external presentations
Collaborating with the team to develop an understanding of apparel design prototypes, patterning, and modeling methods
Supporting in updating technical drawings and design packs as required

You will be equipped with the experience to take on the role of a design assistant
You will gain a deep understanding of the design process from ideation to prototype
You will understand the basics of technical materials, garment construction, and design principles
You will be able to balance multiple priorities at once, and work collaboratively with multiple cross functional teams in order to meet project deadlines
Are you our next Design Co-Op Student?
You are in your fourth year of post-secondary study, in the field of Apparel Design
You are proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, In Design, and Photoshop
You are skilled in CLO3D, or eager to learn
You can sew basic woven and knit garments, using an industrial single needle machine
You are an excellent team player, with the ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision towards a common goal
You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
