Location: Remote (South Africa) | Start Date: ASAP | Type: Permanent (Full-time)

🦁BRING YOUR VISION FOR LEARNING TO LIFE WHERE IT MATTERS MOST

You have spent your career mastering the art of education, but now you’re looking for a landscape that matches your ambition. You understand that truly impactful learning isn't just about sharing information - it’s about creating an experience that sticks. You are a strategist who isn't afraid to get your hands dirty, someone who can see the "big picture" of a national accreditation strategy and then dive deep into the details of a learner workbook to ensure it is world-class.

You are ready to step into a leadership role where your expertise in curriculum design and academic excellence becomes the foundation for the next generation of conservationists and guides. At Bushwise, you won’t just be managing content; you will be the architect of a learning journey that transforms students into industry leaders. If you are highly organised, process-driven, and crave the ownership of building an educational "source of truth," this is where your expertise meets its highest purpose.

✨WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

As our Wildlife Learning Designer, you are the guardian of our academic standards. Everything we do relies on the quality of our training, and you will be the person who ensures our curriculum is not only industry-leading but also perfectly aligned with South African guiding and wildlife accreditations. You will build the frameworks and repositories that allow Bushwise to scale, ensuring that whether a student is in a classroom or a remote camp, they are receiving a transformative education.

🐘WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Lead Curriculum Innovation: Project manage the design and creation of all new curricula, learner manuals, and workbooks from concept to completion.
  • Master Accreditation: Own and deliver on the Bushwise accreditation strategy within the South African guiding landscape, coordinating all submissions and documentation.
  • Optimise Learning Materials: Continuously audit and redesign existing materials - from online lectures to video assets - to enhance engagement and information flow.
  • Build the "Source of Truth": Develop and maintain a centralised repository of product information and business "blueprints" to ensure consistency across marketing, sales, and operations.
  • Collaborate with Experts: Source and coordinate internal trainers and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure all content is technically elite.
  • Standardise Quality: Implement templates for all learning materials to ensure every piece of Bushwise content reflects our premium brand.
  • Drive Process Excellence: Act as an internal consultant to map and document critical processes like "New Camp Setup" and "Student Onboarding."

🦒WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Strategic Curriculum Expertise: Proven experience in designing and managing complex educational programs and learning content.
  • Accreditation Knowledge: A deep understanding of (or the ability to quickly master) the South African guiding and wildlife accreditation landscape.
  • Project Management Power: The ability to lead projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising on quality.
  • A Systematic Mindset: You enjoy creating order out of chaos and building repositories that serve as the backbone of an organisation.
  • Eye for Detail: A commitment to excellence that ensures every workbook, slide, and online module is professional and engaging.
  • Collaborative Leadership: The ability to work across departments—Operations, Training, and Sales - to ensure educational goals align with business needs.

🐾WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

  • Competitive Salary: Monthly CTC of R45,000 for the first 6 months, increasing to R50,000 (based on performance).
  • Career Growth: A foundational leadership role with the opportunity to shape the academic future of a leading field guide training company.
  • Impactful Work: Work in iconic wildlife areas and contribute to real-world biodiversity outcomes through education.
  • Supportive Culture: Flexible, collaborative environment with access to in-house wellbeing support.
  • Direct Access: Work closely with the Director and the broader leadership team of Second Nature.
