Longbridge is currently recruiting for an Underwriting Manager to lead our Wholesale Sale Division. This is a remote position reporting to the Director of Underwriting.

Responsibilities:

The Underwriting Manager will manage and lead a group of underwriters while also providing credit decisions and recommendations for complex cases. Reviews and develops all aspects of underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance with FHA, Proprietary loan programs, federal, and state regulations. Monitors processes and systems to ensure working at maximum capacity.

Job Duties:

  • Manage a team of Underwriters that underwrite for our Wholesale HECM channel
  • Provide credit decisions and recommendations for complex situations
  • Leads and directs the work of their team of underwriters
  • Review and develop underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance
  • Hire and train new underwriters to the team
  • Interacts and collaborates with other Department Managers and Account Executives
  • Attend scheduled Operational and daily Round Table meetings
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to bank secrecy, anti-money laundering laws, fair lending, HMDA, ECOA, Reg Z.   

 

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years proven experience in Underwriting Management, along with 3-5 years proven experience in Underwriting mortgage transactions is required.
  • Reverse experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Wholesale mortgage business channel.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan, accomplish goals, and performs a variety of tasks.
  • Extensive knowledge of FHA HECM, and Proprietary loan programs.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret procedures, manuals, policies, and regulations.
  • Must be detailed and consistent with the ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment
  • Above average oral and written communication skills.
  • Above average customer service, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with sales on complex transactions and perform resolution management
  • Ability to Coach, Mentor, and Train employees to improve Underwriting Acumen, Skill Sets and Decision making.
  • Ability to promote and work in a team environment.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of PC applications (Word, Excel, MS Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Working in a growing and dynamic industry

  • Target base salary range is 110-130K which is based on various factors including skills and work experience.
  • In addition to base salary, this role is eligible monthly production bonus
