Web UX/UI Designer (Maternity Cover)

The role is about:

This is a fixed-term maternity cover role (2-year contract). 

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and user-focused Web UX/UI Designer to support the design and evolution of our digital experiences across all marketing and web touchpoints, including landing pages, careers pages, and internal websites. The role plays a key part in shaping intuitive, visually engaging, and accessible interfaces that are fully aligned with payabl.’s brand and business objectives. 

During this maternity cover period, the designer will conduct user research, develop wireframes and interactive prototypes, collaborate closely with developers and internal stakeholders to bring designs to life, and contribute to maintaining and evolving a cohesive design system. The role also involves incorporating feedback, ensuring consistency and usability across platforms, and continuously improving the overall user experience across all digital journeys.

Location: Hybrid in Vilnius or Limassol, or Poland 

Reporting to: Head of Creative

What you will do:  

• Design engaging, high-performing web pages that improve conversion rates and ensure a seamless and intuitive end-to-end user experience.
• Translate business goals and data insights into clear UX/UI solutions.
• Analyze existing website patterns, journeys, and funnels, proactively identifying UX/UI improvements.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to understand user needs and behaviors, and use insights to make informed design decisions.
• Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma.
• Maintain, evolve, and scale our design system strategically, consistently, and sustainably.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure smooth design handoff and high-quality implementation.
• Build a components library in collaboration with engineers to achieve speed and flexibility in landing page creation.
• Work with SEO, Paid, Content, Graphic Designers, and other teams to ensure designs support growth and visibility.
• Contribute to A/B testing initiatives and iterate based on the results and user behavior.
• Ensure all designs comply with web accessibility standards to provide an inclusive experience for all users.
• Proactively suggest new ideas and improvements that elevate the overall user experience.
  

What we need:

• Bachelor's degree in Web, Graphic or Interaction Design
• Experience as a UI/UX designer in the SaaS industry, preferably within fintech or payment solutions.
• Experience working with and contributing to design systems.
• Familiarity with payment technologies and trends in the fintech space can be advantageous given payabl.'s focus on payment solutions.
• A strong portfolio showcasing previous UI/UX Website design work.

• Proficiency in Figma, staying up-to-date with the latest feature releases, and implementing them to optimize processes.
• Experience collaborating with developers and understanding technical constraints (HTML/CSS knowledge is a plus).
• Ability to solve complex design challenges creatively while considering user needs and business objectives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment typical of tech companies like payabl., which emphasizes agile development practices.

🧭Hiring Process:

• Initial Interview – A 30-40 min conversation with our Talent Acquisition team to explore your experience and career goals.
• In-Depth Discussion – A 45-minute deep dive with our CMO and Head of Marketing Operation to assess your skills and alignment with the role.
• Design Challenge: A UX/UI project aimed at evaluating your technical skills, with a submission timeframe of 5 working days.
• Final Behavioral Interview – A final interview with our CMO, Head of Marketing Operations, and wider team to review your assessment results and confirm overall fit for the role and team.
