GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION
Working from established requirements and design systems, the Web Developer designs, codes, and modifies web applications for internal and external use. The Web Developer works collaboratively with designers and contract developers in creating, maintaining, and updating our web applications.

SCHEDULE
Approximate 40, M-F 8a-6p approximate (flexible work times)
COMPENSATION
Range: $33,000 - $49,500/year
RESPONSIBILITIES
Company and product knowledge
- Become knowledgeable of company history, mission, vision, and products
- Maintain knowledge as products are revised and/or new products are introduced
- Maintain knowledge of development tools, systems, and processes
- Maintain knowledge emerging technologies/industry trends
Development Responsibilities
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using digital development best practices
- Create digital user interface by using standard frontend development practices
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Create and maintain application and code documentation
- Maintain, expand, and scale applications as necessary
- Collaborate with designers to match visual design intent
- Collaborate with outside development resources to integrate digital applications
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or 2 years of work experience in a similar role
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Experience working in a deadline driven environment
- Demonstrated development skills
- Proficiency in Linux server environment
- Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and PHP
- Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks
- Proficiency with PHP-based web development frameworks
- Familiarity with Git Source Code Management system
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Familiarity with Twitter Bootsrap, other frontend development frameworks
- Familiarity with Laravel PHP development framework
- Familiarity with Magento e-commerce platform
- Familiarity with mobile application ecosystem
- Familiarity with educational publishing
