Wealth Sales Assistant

Position Summary

The incumbent will be an employee of Credential Financial Strategies and will report to the on-site Sr. Wealth Consultants.

This position is responsible for working closely with the Credential Securities Inc. Wealth Consultants/Senior Investment Advisors and WFCU Credit Union members in Windsor, Essex (and surrounding area) to create sales opportunities and support new and existing relationships. They will assist in growing and managing the Advisory Practice by providing effective client service and contributing to business development activities.

This position provides administrative and office support services to the Credential Securities Inc. Wealth Consultants/Senior Investment Advisors. In addition, this position is responsible promoting services of WFCU Credit Union and Credential Financial Strategies in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use in-depth knowledge of products and services to identify new opportunities within the existing client base
  • Ensuring investment recommendations are suitable and align with client’s financial goals, financial plans, objectives, and risk tolerance
  • Coordinate/Participate in client meetings and events with the Investment Advisor and clients/prospects: help determine agenda and key topics, prepare documentation, execute post-meeting work.
  • Provide proactive client service with a problem-resolution focus and attention to details.
  • Liaise with various departments for execution, where necessary.
  • Respond to client account inquiries and remain accountable to follow-up, as required.
  • Help build and execute business plans, client segmentation, and client service plans.
  • Identify and execute opportunities among existing client base for asset consolidation, referrals, etc.
  • Co-manage client acquisition pipeline (prospects / leads); work with advisory team to close new opportunities.
  • Deepen existing relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) through ongoing management.
  • Trading and / or Portfolio Rebalancing
  • Maintaining a good understanding of client profiles and corresponding investment strategies
  • Prepare, analyze, and present reports and recommendations
  • Assist the advisor in developing investment and financial plans
  • Proactively recommend team and business process improvements
  • Adhering to regulatory policies by staying up to date with all industry rulings and policies
  • Ensuring all client interactions are accurately documented
  • Support Advisor with both conventional and digital marketing programs, including the development, approval, and implementation
  • Supporting practices to ensure administrative processes are streamlined
  • Facilitating a culture of open and honest communication
  • Actively participating and contributing to team meetings
  • Encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches
  • Sharing knowledge and experience to enhance the development of all team members
  • Exhibiting commitment to grow into a highly trained advisor
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Relevant industry experience
  • Post-secondary education in business, accounting, or finance
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
  • Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH)
  • Wealth Management Essentials (WME)
  • Must complete Registered Representative Training (RRT) and registered with IIROC within 12-18 months if not currently registered
  • Life Licensed or willing to be Life Licensed
