The Hull, Massachusetts wastewater treatment facility is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade that will make it able to handle anything that the New England weather and seasonal population can throw at it. Each day presents different challenges and learning opportunities as we strive to maintain compliance and produce the highest quality effluent for Hull while upgrades happen concurrently. In this Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator/ Mechanic role, you will be directly involved with Facility Operations and general maintenance of equipment at the Hull Wastewater Treatment Facility. Work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm, with rotating weekends, and be a part of the on-call operator rotation. In addition, operators will be required to respond to any emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed.
Typical responsibilities include:
Daily operations and maintenance at the wastewater treatment facility and the pump stations as directed by the Project Manager.
Operation of assigned treatment, mechanical, and electrical equipment and other similarly related facility components and equipment.
Performing preventive maintenance activities as scheduled, including inspections of remote pump stations and their equipment.
Competent in corrective maintenance best practices and scheduling.
What will you need to succeed?
Applicant must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Plant Grade 3 Certification is preferred, but W&C is willing to train the right, enthusiastic candidate.
Preferred minimum of three years’ of related experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, or other mechanical concerns, such as HVAC or auto/truck repair.
Familiar with computers (Excel, Word, HACH WIMS, etc.), including report generation
Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical, and drug screen before employment.
