We currently have an Technical Trainer position available for a motivated individual to join our Wastewater training team in Launceston. Joining us on a fixed term contract or secondment basis, you will receive a salary of circa £28,500 plus benefits. About the role: The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical training that equips operational staff with the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles safely, effectively, and in compliance with organisational and regulatory standards. You will support the Technical Training Manager by implementing training programmes and ensuring competency development across wastewater operations. What you'll be doing:
  • Deliver technical training sessions on wastewater processes, pumping stations, treatment systems, and health & safety practices.
  • Use a variety of methods including classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, and e-learning modules.
  • Assist in creating and updating training materials, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with current standards.
  • Incorporate lessons learned from operational incidents and best practice guidance.
  • Conduct assessments and provide feedback to learners.
  • Support the implementation of competency frameworks and progression schemes.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure completion of mandatory courses.
  • Report training outcomes and learner progress to the Technical Training Manager.
  • Gather feedback from participants and suggest improvements to training delivery and content.
  • Stay updated on technical developments and regulatory changes relevant to wastewater operations.
  • What we are looking for:
  • Technical knowledge of wastewater systems, environmental management or operational / production processes.
  • Experience delivering technical or safety training within industrial, defence or educational environments.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adapt training methods to different learning styles and environments.
  • Ability to develop professional working relationships and liaise with people from all levels.
  • Professional understanding of Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • The ability to identify and implement best practice.
