The Waste Services Operator is responsible for the delivery of Waste Services Group technical operations, including the inspection, maintenance and issuing of specialist equipment and waste processing operations. Your core responsibilities:

  • Ensure that staff safety, health and welfare are maintained and adhered to in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Actively promote UKAEA’s values, championing a culture of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Support the effective and safe implementation of written and verbal instructions from Technicians.
  • Act as an interface between Technicians and the Contracted staff within WSG Facilities.
  • Provide feedback on the progress of task-based activities to Waste Services Technicians
  • Provide training to end user on equipment supplied by WSG.
  • Contribute to documentation and data uploads to uphold facility compliance. 
  • Deliver a high standard of work in line with area specialism.
  • Work in accordance with UKAEA policy and undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties requested by your manager.

 

  • Experience of working in a highly regulated or controlled environment, with an understanding of contamination control practices.
  • Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent), with the ability to interpret and work from technical documentation.
  • Eligible and willing to become a Classified Beryllium and Radiation Worker.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Medically fit and able to wear Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE).
