Waste Operative Driver - Night Shifts - Heathrow Airport

Optime Group are proud to be recruiting Waste Operative Driver for a prestigious client at Heathrow Airport. This is a very enjoyable role with a great company offering excellent conditions and facilities.

PLEASE NOTE: This role requires a Full D1 UK Driving License and at least 3 years residency in the UK.

What's on offer:

• Working Hours: 8.5 hour shifts between 22:00pm - 06:00am
• Shift pattern: 5 on 3 off.
• Hours per week: 40 hours
• Salary: £30,106.70 per annum
• Weekly Pay (every Friday)
• Temp to Perm (performance related).

Start Date:

• 5th March 2026

Key responsibilities:

• Able to drive a D1 vehicle
• Be trained in Manual Handling to ensure the correct methods are used to lift bags into the vehicle
• Pre and Post vehicle Checks Fuelling of Vehicle
• Clean Up of Spillages
• Be trained to the APHA guidelines
• Be trained in how to use the Grundon Compactor 
• Be trained in how to remove Waste from the Waste Vehicle into the Grundon Compactor
• To have good attention to detail and observe all health and safety and airport regulations
• Sanitisation of Vehicle
• Handling cleaning materials with care and consideration to minimize damages.
• Reporting process
• Able to use a PDA and work on their own in a pressurised environment
• Check all equipment containers for cleanliness and damage - report any damage to the CQS or FLM immedietly
• Ensure all customer and equipment is return at the end of the service 
• Respond to call backs in a prompt and timely manner
• Ensure all waste is collected from the Cleaning teams by following the correct process        
• Ensure the correct PPE is used as per training
• Ensure lift and node areas are clear of any waste which is accountable for by DHL

Shifts:

The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on a 5 on 3 off and you will need to be fully flexible with the days and hours you can work. This could be subject to change!

An example of the shift hours for 40 hours per week (5 on 3 off pattern):

• Day 1: 22:00pm to 06:00am
• Day 2: 22:00pm to 06:00am
• Day 3: 22:00pm to 06:00am
• Day 4: 22:00pm to 06:00am
• Day 5: 22:00pm to 06:00am

• OFF
• OFF

The ideal candidate:

• Holds a D1 Full UK Driving Licence.
• Has lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years or more, as all successful applicants will be required to undergo a Counter Terrorist Check (CTC).
• Ability to work without constant supervision and follow instructions.
• Ability to adapt quickly to a very busy operational environment.
• Brings a strong work ethic, showing reliability, initiative, and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Ideally has previous experience in cleaning and/or in a supervisory capacity, though full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
