Warehouse Supervisor

The primary objective of this function is to oversee the GLC warehouse operations and mentor the team leads to ensure that the warehouse staff operates at peak performance

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage Warehouse Operations: Supervise all aspects of warehouse activities to ensure efficient functioning.
  • Monitor Operational KPIs: Conduct daily assessments of key performance indicators related to warehouse operations.
  • Identify Improvement Opportunities: Evaluate both short-term and long-term strategies for operational enhancements.
  • Staff Planning Coordination: Develop weekly staffing plans for the warehouse based on projected customer volumes, along with mid-term staffing strategies.
  • Liaise with Staffing Agency: Communicate with the temporary staffing agency to discuss staff planning and confirm the required number of temporary workers each week.
  • Ensure Staff Safety: Implement and uphold safety protocols to protect the well-being of all employees
  • Team Development: Inspire and mentor warehouse Leads to foster a motivated and high-performing team

Requirements

Essential skills

  • A service attitude (no nine to five mentality)
  • Effective communicator
  • Pro-active
  • Enthusiastic about learning and personal development
  • Strong people management skills
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, verbal and written

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of MS Office – particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of administrative and logistical processes
  • Knowledge of WMS
  • Leadership Experience
