SUMMARY  

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound operations for both the on-site manufacturing warehouse and an off-site 3PL facility. This role plays a critical part in structuring the warehouse function for maximum efficiency and effectiveness through process improvements, workflow optimization, and strong inventory controls. The Warehouse Manager ensures timely material availability to support uninterrupted production, maintains SAP transaction accuracy, and safeguards inventory integrity. This position works closely with EHS to develop and sustain a safe workplace transport program and fosters strong collaboration with production, planning, procurement, and supply chain teams. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage inbound and outbound warehouse operations across the manufacturing site and the off-site 3PL facility. 
  • Improve warehouse efficiency and effectiveness through process improvements, workflow redesign, and space optimization within a small-footprint warehouse environment. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate supply of materials to production to prevent downtime and support continuous manufacturing operations. 
  • Oversee SAP transaction accuracy, including goods movements, inventory adjustments, and documentation requirements. 
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through cycle counting, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis of discrepancies. 
  • Manage and develop warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, performance management, and fostering a culture of accountability and safety. 
  • Collaborate closely with EHS to develop and implement a comprehensive workplace transport program (e.g., forklift operations, pedestrian safety, traffic flow). 
  • Coordinate with planning, procurement, quality, and production teams to align material flow, resolve issues, and support operational priorities. 
  • Oversee relationships and performance with the 3PL provider, ensuring service-level expectations are met. 
  • Monitor KPIs related to warehouse efficiency, accuracy, safety, and throughput; use data to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Partner with the Inventory Control Specialist to improve processes within SAP, develop end-user training, implement system updates, and drive overall efficiency. 
  • Develop and enforce SOPs and maintain compliance with company policies and safety regulations. 
  • Support audits, inspections, and cross-functional improvement initiatives. 
  • Promote a strong culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Responsible for developing and managing the departmental budget to ensure costs remain within planned annual targets, while also adjusting strategies as needed to reduce expenses during high-cost periods. 
  • Other responsibilities as determined by the Director. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required: 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. 
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. 

Experience 

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role. 
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing a warehouse efficiency strategy that directly supports manufacturing operations and minimizes production downtime. 
  • Proven ability to optimize material flow, warehouse layout, and inventory management within small-footprint or space-constrained facilities. 
  • Experience managing relationships and performance of third-party logistics (3PL) partners, including service-level oversight, operational alignment, and issue resolution. 
  • Strong background in supporting 24/7 production environments that rely on timely, accurate material delivery. 
  • Experience implementing process changes, Kaizen events, or continuous improvement initiatives that measurably improved throughput, accuracy, or cost efficiency. 
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (or similar ERP system), including goods movements, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and documentation requirements. 
  • Experience managing, developing, and coaching warehouse teams, including staffing, training, performance management, and building a culture of safety and accountability. 
  • Successful track record supporting audits, compliance activities, and EHS requirements, including forklift safety programs and workplace transport plans. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Ability to develop and execute a long-term vision for warehouse efficiency that supports uninterrupted manufacturing operations. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret KPIs, identify trends, and use data to drive decisions. 
  • Solid understanding of inventory control principles, warehouse best practices, and material handling standards. 
  • Strong partnership skills with cross-functional teams such as Planning, Procurement, Production, Quality, EHS, and Continuous Improvement. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, solve problems under pressure, and maintain a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies related to warehouse operations. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities for operational savings.
