A Warehouse Associate / Teardown Technician is responsible for disassembling machinery or electronic components to assess parts for reuse, repair, or remanufacturing. This role entails meticulously dismantling items in accordance with standard procedures, cleaning and organizing reusable parts, documenting findings, and adhering to safety guidelines. The position demands manual dexterity, attention to detail, physical stamina, a high level of organizational skill, and the ability to follow mechanical instructions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disassembly: Systematically dismantle medical equipment, including X-ray, Mammography, and CT machines, following standard operating procedures (SOPs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and schematics.
  • Part Assessment: Inspect individual components for wear, damage, or suitability for reuse, repair, or remanufacturing.
  • Part Preparation: Clean parts and organize them for washing and subsequent processes.
  • Documentation: Accurately document the parts and materials removed, maintaining precise records of the teardown process.
  • Inventory Management: Properly locate and identify parts for sales and shipping, while organizing and tracking components for effective inventory management.
  • Adherence to Procedures: Comply with all safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other technicians and inventory specialists to ensure the accuracy of work scope and quality control.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in computer skills including Inventory Software, Microsoft Office, Excel, and SAP.
  • Demonstrated mechanical dexterity.
  • Working knowledge of medical equipment and parts.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to utilize hand tools.
