The Stepstone Group is seeking a dynamic and strategic VP of Technology to lead our Commercial Platform portfolio. In this pivotal executive role, you'll oversee a talented team of approximately 80 technology professionals responsible for implementing and maintaining our critical commercial systems, including Salesforce CRM and Certinia ERP solutions, across more than 6 markets. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll drive digital commercial transformation while ensuring our technology infrastructure supports our mission to help companies hire the right talent.
This role, reporting directly to the group CTO, offers the unique opportunity to shape the technological backbone of our commercial operations, working at the intersection of technology and business strategy to enable our teams to deliver exceptional products and value to our customers and users.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a large multi-country team of approximately 80 technology professionals across the EMEA region, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
- Oversee the strategic implementation, optimization, and maintenance of enterprise-grade commercial systems, with primary focus on Salesforce CRM (Sales & Service), CPQ, and Certinia ERP across 6+ markets.
- Lead the technical migration of key markets from existing SAP implementations to Salesforce and Certinia.
- Drive digital commercial transformation initiatives, ensuring scalable, multi-market, multi-language solutions that align technology capabilities with business objectives and revenue growth.
- Collaborate closely with commercial, product, and finance stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver technology solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for multiple concurrent enterprise-level projects while ensuring system performance, security, compliance, and integration across the technology ecosystem.
Your skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's degree preferred); 10+ years of experience in software engineering and technology leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Deep knowledge and proven track record in implementing enterprise-grade Salesforce solutions, including CRM (Sales & Service Cloud) and CPQ, across multiple markets and languages in complex organizational environments.
- Experience integrating enterprise finance systems including Certinia, SAP, and Oracle with customer-facing platforms like Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Marketing Cloud to enable end-to-end digital transformation from marketing through order fulfilment and billing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and scale geographically distributed technology teams of 50+ professionals, creating high-performing cultures and managing complex stakeholder relationships across all organizational levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence at executive level, translate technical concepts for business audiences, and represent technology strategy in board-level decision-making processes.
