The VP, Software Engineering will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of software development across web, mobile, and API platforms. This role combines executive leadership, technical expertise, and innovation to deliver high-impact, scalable, and secure software solutions. You will oversee a globally distributed engineering organization, champion AI-accelerated development, and ensure alignment between technology investments and measurable business outcomes. Accountabilities:

• Define and execute software engineering strategy across web, mobile, and API platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance with healthcare data standards.
• Lead a global engineering organization, including full-time staff and contractors, to deliver high-quality, intelligent products.
• Drive adoption of modern development practices such as CI/CD, progressive delivery, feature flagging, and AI-driven development testing.
• Partner with Product, Data, and Security teams to integrate AI capabilities and ensure secure, compliant application delivery.
• Represent software engineering in executive discussions, presenting progress, outcomes, and innovation roadmaps to internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee mobile application development, including native and cross-platform applications, ensuring seamless user experiences and compliance with privacy standards.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years managing technology operations, software engineering teams, and customer-facing solutions.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare or regulated environments with focus on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Proven experience leading global, distributed teams and managing both in-house and outsourced solutions.
• Strong executive presence, communication, and customer engagement skills.
• Expertise in modern software engineering practices, AI-accelerated development, and agile delivery frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree required (Computer Science, Business, or related field); Master’s degree highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategic vision into actionable engineering initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
