The Role

Proper Cloth is seeking a VP of Marketing to lead and scale our marketing organization across performance, lifecycle, brand, PR, and creative production. This role is responsible for turning company-level marketing strategy into high-quality execution, ensuring consistency, rigor, and impact across all customer touch points.

In this role you will manage a team of 15–20 people across Email Marketing, Paid Advertising, PR & Influencer Marketing, and Photography, partnering closely with the CEO to refine strategy while owning execution, prioritization, and results.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable with numbers, creative, and people management.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary marketing organization spanning performance, lifecycle, brand, PR, and photography
  • Translate company-level marketing strategy into clear plans, priorities, and execution across channels
  • Own customer acquisition and retention performance, including budget management and ROI accountability
  • Partner closely with the CEO on marketing strategy, experiments, and long-term direction
  • Ensure brand consistency and quality across all customer-facing outputs, including campaigns, PDPs, email, ads, and earned media
  • Oversee campaign planning and execution in close collaboration with Product, Creative, Showrooms, and Finance
  • Build strong processes for planning, measurement, and continuous improvement
  • Hire, mentor, and retain top marketing talent while raising the bar for quality and impact
  • This role is accountable for growth and performance outcomes.

Salary: $250k

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of marketing experience, including senior leadership responsibility
  • Proven experience managing multiple marketing functions and managers
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of driving growth efficiently
  • Deep appreciation for brand, creative quality, and customer experience
  • Experience working closely with a founder or CEO in a strategy-partner capacity
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, detail-oriented environment
  • Clear communicator with strong judgment and prioritization skills
  • Experience in ecommerce, DTC, luxury, or premium consumer brands is a plus, but not required.
