Our teams are across Australia, EU (Predominately Germany) & Japan have been experiencing accelerated growth, including our HR, IT & Finance operations. We are now looking for a VP of Operations to lead a wide variety of people, projects  and initiatives. Our workforce operates in a mixture of structure’s, including onsite (2 Labs in Australia & 2 Labs in Germany), hybrid and remote working. Setting up a significant operation in Spain is also part of our future plans, and therefore there is a potential opportunity for relocation to/back to Spain.

 

Mission  

As the VP Operationsyou will be a key strategic partner to the CEO Office and  broader leadership team and will own the operational heartbeat of the company. This role is uniquely positioned, and your day‑to‑day will span oversight of the HR, IT & Finance functions where you will drive alignment, efficiency, and operational excellence as Quantum Brilliance scales globally. 

 

This includes analysis of current processes and optimize respectively setting up and delivering key processes which support the business to scale efficiently and effectively.  You will serve as a company representative on regulatory issues and enhancing the operational procedure, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, and IT Infrastructure, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company's policies and applicable laws.  

 

What you’ll do 

  • Leadership: Lead and inspire small high-impact teams across the IT, HR & Finance functions. 
  • Strategy & Planning: Lead annual planning, OKRs, quarterly forecasting, and reporting outcomes. 
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgets, forecasts, cost governance, and relationships with external partners. 
  • People & Culture: Oversee the people planning, frameworks, performance, and engagement for the business. 
  • Delivery Operations: Keep QB’s delivery engine sharp, manage company-wide delivery of operations initiatives, tracking execution, and drive continuous process improvements. 
  • Systems & Automation: Oversee and optimise QB’s core tools (Microsoft Outlook/Teams/Sharepoint, Xero, Netsuite, Certify, Atlassian suite, BambooHR etc.). Design smart, scalable workflows that automate repetitive work and improve accuracy. 
  • Data & Insights: Maintain KPI dashboards and reporting systems that give the business clear, real-time visibility. 
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance, privacy, and risk frameworks meet operational requirements. 

 

Ideal Pedigree 

  • Bachelor’s degree in typically Business, Information Systems, Finance, Economics or Human Resources (An MBA would be highly regarded) 
  • Connects vision to structure, process, and rhythm, turning ideas into execution. 
  • Operations leadership experience across Finance, HR & IT functions. 
  • Company builderdesigning for scale and ideally have worked in Series A, B, C type start-ups. 
  • You are a key cultural enabler and have the precision on how to build culture. 
  • Problem solver and knows when to take risks to drive appropriate outcomes. 
  • Deals extremely well with ambiguity, handles the complexity of competing priorities with a calm and measured focus. 
  • Loves deep tech and can work with engineers. 
  • Understands the power of AI, using tools like ChatGPT and workflow automation platforms to improve speed, precision, and scale. 
  • Willing to relocate to Europe/ Spain (or vice versa, could start by spending 3-6 monthseconding in Australia first, before moving to or back to Spain)  
  • Language: ideally speaks Spanish!
