The company’ headquarters is in San Diego, with offices in San Jose, Dallas, Chicago, Boston, Ottawa and representatives throughout the USA and Canada.

Job Summary:

As the VP of Engineering at Macnica Americas, this critical position involves managing multifaceted engineering teams, formulating and executing strategic engineering initiatives, and ensuring the timely and budget-conscious completion of engineering projects. Your leadership will be instrumental in aligning engineering strategies with the organization’s overarching goals and objectives, fostering an environment where innovation thrives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Nurture and lead engineering teams to success, providing necessary resources and support.

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of engineering projects, from inception to implementation.

  • Maintain vigilance on timelines and budgets to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Identify potential risks in engineering processes and implement mitigation measures.

  • Stay updated on the latest engineering trends and technologies.

  • Build, expand, and lead a highly effective engineering team, complemented by external resources.

  • Seek out innovative solutions that align with and advance the company's strategic objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with the President to define technical strategy and develop actionable roadmaps.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Experience in machine vision imaging, robotics, industrial automation, or networking.

  • Hands-on experience with FPGA technologies such as Altera.

  • Proven ability to lead products from inception to end-of-life.

  • Experience in managing geographically dispersed teams.

  • Strong foundation in engineering and a hands-on approach to product development.
