Visual Designer

About the role

Reporting to the Manager of Visual Design this role will design assets for our website, emails, social media, video content, paid media, and more. Your graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. For this, you need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design.  If you're detail-oriented and organized, have a strong design aesthetic, a strong work ethic, animation skills, and love to find creative solutions for creative ideas, then this is the job for you. The ideal candidate is a team player with a can-do attitude and an eye for creating beautiful, engaging visuals that drive value.

About the team

At Auctane, our Brand Marketing team brings our brand to life—through creative, content, campaigns, and experiences that build a connection with our audience and move them to action. We’re looking for a Visual Designer with proven digital and performance design experience to join our in-house creative studio and help to design engaging and on-brand assets and motion graphics for a variety of digital media initiatives.

What will you be doing?

• Lead design projects, from conception to delivery
• Execute creative design for emails, landing pages, banner ads, social ads, video content and more
• Demonstrate acuity with critical and conceptual thought
• Interpret creative briefs and take the initiative to ask clarifying questions if needed
• Proactively partner with copy to prepare rough drafts and present ideas
• Stay organized, detail-oriented, and prioritize and multitask multiple projects at once
• Obtain input from managers to ensure that designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company or client appropriately
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
• Keep up with the latest trends, big ideas, and innovations in design, motion graphics and the creative industry

What are we looking for?

• 3+ years of design experience in an in-house creative department or marketing and/or agency studio
• Moderate to advanced motion graphic experience
• A strong portfolio of design projects demonstrating conceptual thought
• Familiarity with design software (Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Understanding of design systems and libraries within the Figma framework
• Ability to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision, meeting deadlines
• Creative thinker, excellent listening and communication skills
• Very strong written and communication presentation skills
• Experience with cross-functional teams  
• Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial
