Visual Design Lead

About the role We're looking for a Visual Design Lead to ensure exceptional creative quality across our marketplace and apps. You'll need robust design expertise and deep understanding of UI/UX including design systems, brand design, interaction design, micro interactions and motion design.

You'll be entrusted with the SEEK brand and expected to build a compelling vision for its future expression across marketplace and app experiences. Reporting to the Head of Creative and Design Systems, you'll partner with Heads of Product, Marketing leads and business stakeholders to develop creative solutions from concept through execution.

Key responsibilities

Design excellence & execution

• Hands-on execution of best-in-class visual communications from strategy to pixel-perfect delivery;
• Champion design craft and visual storytelling throughout Product Design output;
• Lead development of original visual language connecting with APAC marketplace audience;
• Implement high-fidelity animations using motion design principles; and
• Measure UI and creative solutions through proven success metrics.

Cross-functional collaboration & systems

• Ensure holistic thinking across marketplace for consistent customer experience;
• Advance Design System adoption within Design Organisation; and
• Scope, prioritise and resource all Visual Design work.

Team leadership & development

• Lead, coach and develop designers maintaining engaged, high-performing team;
• Provide constructive feedback across multi-disciplines ensuring quality and consistency;
• Inspire and energise world-class design team cultivating creative culture;
• Hire across Australia and Asia as required; and
• Set strategic Team KRs and outcomes for Visual Design Team.

Essential requirements

• 5+ years' experience in creative agency or in-house at leading brand;
• 3+ years leading high-performing visual design team;
• Diverse portfolio of interactive communications work including motion design, illustration, art direction, typography, animation;
• Strong understanding of interactive and digital design including collaboration with engineers;
• Proven experience with design systems and agile product delivery teams;
• Strategic and systems-based thinking built on insights, not creative whims; and
• Proven ability to influence design and business outcomes through effective stakeholder communication.
