Video Production Designer

AI overview

This role requires a Video Production Designer to execute approved creative direction into polished, client-ready video deliverables while ensuring production quality and efficiency.

The Video Production Designer exists to protect creative momentum and enable sustainable growth by executing established creative direction with precision, speed, and excellence.

This role is built for a highly skilled execution specialist who thrives on bringing approved concepts to life through polished, technically sound, client-ready video deliverables.

The ideal candidate finds genuine satisfaction in refining, versioning, and delivering production-ready video work - not in developing original concepts or setting creative direction.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

  • Execute approved creative direction into high-quality, export-ready video deliverables

  • Create cutdowns from master edits (e.g., 60s → 30s, 15s, 6s)

  • Develop platform-specific versions (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5)

  • Execute motion graphics and title sequences within established templates

  • Update existing video assets with new footage, copy, or seasonal adjustments

  • Add captions, burned-in text, and accessibility elements

  • Prepare and export final files according to platform and client specifications

  • Support high-volume video rollouts while maintaining consistent quality

Core Competencies

Technical Excellence

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (editing, timeline management, complex sequences)

  • Strong proficiency in After Effects (motion graphics, titles, visual effects execution)

  • Solid understanding of codecs, export specifications, and platform requirements

  • Experience with color correction, audio mixing, and basic sound design

  • Strong project organization, media management, and archival workflows

  • Familiarity with caption workflows and accessibility standards

Execution Mindset

  • Enjoys building from established frameworks and templates

  • Takes pride in polished edits that match approved creative direction

  • Comfortable executing someone else's vision with technical precision

  • Finds satisfaction in version control and derivative asset creation

  • Clearly understands the difference between executing and creative directing

Production Speed & Efficiency

  • Quickly assesses edit complexity and turnaround feasibility

  • Works efficiently with approved footage, graphics, and audio assets

  • Manages multiple cutdowns, versions, and adaptations simultaneously

  • Knows when clarification is needed vs. when to execute independently

  • Builds efficient workflows for repeatable or high-volume tasks

What Success Looks Like

  • Refines rough cuts or approved concepts into client-ready deliverables

  • Executes within established pacing, tone, and storytelling frameworks

  • Delivers clean, properly named, specification-compliant exports

  • Identifies and corrects technical issues (audio sync, color consistency, export errors) before delivery

  • Asks directional questions early, then executes independently

  • Follows SOPs for file management and delivery protocols

  • Maintains consistent technical quality across multiple deliverables

Ideal Background

Experience

  • 1–3 years in video production, post-production, or content creation

  • Agency, social media, or broadcast production experience preferred

  • Experience with template-based workflows and brand video rollouts

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with client-facing quality standards

Portfolio Should Demonstrate

  • Polished, technically clean video work

  • Versioning examples (cutdowns, aspect ratios, platform variations)

  • Consistent pacing, color, and audio quality

  • Motion graphics and title execution within established styles

  • Emphasis on execution refinement rather than original storytelling

Strong Fit Tasks

  • Creating cutdowns from approved master edits

  • Building platform-specific versions from approved edits

  • Executing templated motion graphics or title sequences

  • Making content updates to existing video assets

  • Adding captions and accessibility elements

  • Supporting high-volume production rollouts

    Poor Fit for This Role

    • Developing original video concepts or scripts

    • Making narrative or storytelling decisions

    • Setting pacing, tone, or creative direction for new projects

    • Resolving creative ambiguity or incomplete briefs

    Cultural & Professional Traits

    The ideal Video Production Designer:

    • Values craftsmanship and precision

    • Thrives in structured, execution-focused roles

    • Enjoys supporting a larger creative vision

    • Takes pride in quality regardless of visibility

    • Is energized by high-quality execution rather than conceptual ownership

    Church Experience Preference

We strongly prefer candidates with active church involvement or ministry experience - whether through church staff roles, volunteer creative/production teams, or consistent service in a local church context.

This experience provides valuable cultural insight and helps us serve churches with excellence, empathy, and mission alignment.
