As a Senior Technical Artist, you will act as a bridge between the art and programming teams, ensuring that the vision of the game is realized while maintaining performance and technical standards. You will be responsible for optimizing art assets, developing technical solutions, and providing guidance to junior artists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with artists and game designers to define art production pipelines and workflows.
  • Optimize 3D models, textures, and animations for performance across multiple platforms.
  • Develop and maintain tools that assist in the art production process.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for technical issues related to art assets.
  • Assist in creating shaders and materials that align with the visual style of the game.
  • Train and mentor junior artists in technical matters and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Stay updated on current trends and technologies in game development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working full-time in the gaming industry as a Technical Artist, with a strong portfolio demonstrating technical art skills.
  • Proficient in industry-standard tools such as Maya, Blender, Unity, or Unreal Engine.
  • Strong knowledge of shaders, lighting, and rendering techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages (Python, C#, etc.) and the development of custom tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • A passion for video games and a strong understanding of game development workflows.
  • Experience mentoring other team members is a plus.
