About the Role

We're seeking a talented Video Editor to join our pool of exceptional creatives. You'll work with innovative startups and established brands across media production, marketing, and creative services—transforming raw footage into polished, engaging content that tells powerful stories and drives results.

Core Responsibilities

Video Editing & Storytelling — 35%

  • Edit raw video footage into cohesive, engaging narratives aligned with project goals
  • Select the best takes, sequences, and pacing to maintain narrative flow
  • Shape interviews, b-roll, and visuals into emotionally resonant stories
  • Identify and extract high-performing moments from long-form content for short-form distribution

Post-Production & Visual Enhancement — 30%

  • Apply color correction, grading, transitions, and visual effects
  • Execute motion graphics, titles, animations, and overlays that enhance storytelling
  • Integrate music, sound effects, and voiceover elements for cinematic polish
  • Optimize content for various platforms (social media, web, broadcast)

Platform-Specific Content Creation — 15%

  • Create and optimize content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other vertical platforms
  • Stay current with platform trends, algorithm dynamics, and emerging editing styles
  • Adapt content to platform-specific best practices and audience behaviors

File Management & Quality Control — 10%

  • Manage file organization, version control, and final delivery assets
  • Maintain structured project files for accessibility and team efficiency
  • Conduct detailed quality checks for both visual and audio precision

Creative Collaboration & Communication — 10%

  • Work closely with producers, creative leads, and clients to align on creative direction
  • Interpret creative briefs and translate them into actionable editing plans
  • Communicate effectively with remote teams on revisions, updates, and feedback
  • Receive and implement constructive feedback in fast-paced environments

Requirements

Must-Have (Required):

Experience & Skills

  • 1–2+ years of professional experience as a Video Editor in agency, production, or startup environments
  • Strong creative instincts for pacing, emotion, timing, and narrative structure
  • Proven ability to craft compelling stories from both long-form and short-form footage
  • Demonstrated experience creating content for digital and social media platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to deliver high-quality work independently with minimal direction

Technical Proficiency

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (required)
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and animation
  • Working knowledge of color grading and correction
  • Experience with sound design and audio mixing
  • Reliable hardware setup capable of handling 4K projects and large file workflows

Work Requirements

  • Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during US business hours (PST or EST)
  • Stable internet connection for remote collaboration and file transfers
  • Professional communication skills for client and team interactions

Nice-to-Have (Preferred):

  • Proficiency in additional editing tools: DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro
  • Motion graphics or animation skills (Blender, Cinema 4D)
  • Basic graphic design skills (Figma, Canva, Photoshop)
  • Experience in event, music, community-driven, education, or healthcare industries
  • Prior experience working directly with US-based clients or remote teams
  • Familiarity with Frame.io, Dropbox, or other collaborative review platforms
  • Understanding of vertical-first shooting and editing techniques
  • Portfolio showcasing both polished brand content and engaging social media clips
