Vice President, Technology

TLDR

Lead the architectural strategy of Curiox's innovative life science technologies, ensuring platform coherence and integration of AI across hardware and software for global scalability.

Vice President, Technology

Location: Remote-friendly — preferred locations are Singapore, Greater Shanghai, Seoul and vicinity, or Malaysia. This role works with R&D teams distributed across Singapore, Seoul, and Shanghai, and location flexibility reflects that operating reality.

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Curiox Biosystems is a pioneering life science technology company transforming sample preparation for cell analysis. Listed on the Korea Stock Exchange, Curiox operates globally with R&D and commercial teams across Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai, and Boston. Our breakthrough C-FREE™ Pluto automation platforms eliminate manual centrifugation, enabling faster, more reproducible, and scalable workflows for flow cytometry and single-cell applications. As Curiox scales globally across biopharma, CRO/CDMO, and platform partnerships, we are seeking a Vice President of Technology to institutionalize system-level architecture and lead Curiox's evolution from a product-led innovator to a software-enabled platform company.

Why This Role?

This is a senior leadership role with direct exposure to the CEO and broad influence across Curiox's technical strategy and product direction. You will own system-level architecture across hardware, software, workflow automation, and AI layers — ensuring that Curiox's platform scales coherently, not as a collection of disconnected products.

This role is accountable for architectural discipline, platform coherence, and the technical foundations that will carry Curiox to global scale.

What You'll Do

System-Level Architecture

  • Own and enforce architecture discipline across all product initiatives — hardware, firmware, software, cloud, and AI layers.
  • Define system boundaries and interface contracts before development begins.
  • Formalize the definition of "architecturally complete" across all product lines including Pluto Workstations, Pluto Code, Workflow Wizard, and Antibody Cocktailing Wizard.
  • Institutionalize failure-mode anticipation as a standard practice before implementation.
  • Implement AI-assisted requirement expansion and stress testing of system logic.
  • Eliminate patch-based development culture and replace it with architecture-first discipline.
  • Ensure no major initiative launches without an architecture review artifact.

AI-Driven Product Leadership

  • Lead the architecture and delivery of Curiox's next-generation software platform, integrating AI capabilities into unified, workflow-level user experiences.
  • Define execution models and interface standards that enable scalable, intelligent automation across Curiox's product portfolio.
  • Work with internal teams and external development partners to translate AI capability into coherent, productized outcomes.
  • Ensure software product direction is system-driven, not feature-accumulated.

Software-Driven Platform Expansion

  • Define modular API architecture for third-party robot integration, data pipelines, and partner connectivity.
  • Define and govern the development of reusable software components across the product portfolio, executed through internal teams and external development partners.
  • Integrate hardware, consumables, and software logic into a coherent platform.
  • Enable OEM-friendly architecture to support Curiox's partner-led growth model.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with R&D (including Engineering and BioApplications), Product, and Commercial teams to align architecture decisions with biological constraints and commercial priorities.
  • Contribute to leadership discussions on platform strategy, technical roadmap, and long-term scalability.
  • Operate effectively across globally distributed teams in Asia, the US, and Europe.

Who You Are

Must-Haves

  • Senior technical leader with 10+ years in systems architecture, platform engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and owning complex multi-layer systems — hardware, software, workflow, or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to define architecture under ambiguity — before all requirements are finalized.
  • AI-native operator: experienced using AI as a modeling and requirement-expansion tool, not just an execution aid.
  • Platform thinker with experience transitioning a product company toward scalable, modular platform architecture.
  • English proficiency at professional working level — able to lead technical discussions, produce architecture documents, and communicate with global stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical teams in complex, multi-disciplinary environments.

Background (one or more of the following)

  • Robotics, automation, or precision instrumentation systems
  • SaaS platforms with hardware dependencies
  • Semiconductor, MedTech, or industrial automation systems
  • Life science instrumentation (advantageous but not required)

Success Profile

  • Structured thinker who produces clear system models before others have finished defining the problem.
  • Low ego, high discipline — earns authority through clarity of output, not seniority.
  • Comfortable challenging the CEO and senior stakeholders constructively, with data and structured reasoning.
  • Raises architectural standards without destabilizing the existing team.
  • Documents by default — architecture artifacts, interface contracts, and decision logs are standard outputs, not follow-ups.
  • Adaptable to a globally distributed, multi-time-zone environment.

Why Join Curiox?

You'll join a team challenging legacy workflows and redefining how modern cell analysis is performed. Curiox values clarity of thinking, learning agility, and impact over hierarchy.

For the right person, this role offers something rare:

  • Architectural authority from day one. You are not inheriting a finished system. You are defining how a platform that is already in production at leading biopharma accounts gets built for global scale. Your decisions will be visible in the product for years.
  • Direct access to the CEO and Board. Curiox is a listed company at an inflection point. This role reports directly to the CEO and carries real strategic weight — not a layer removed from where decisions are made.
  • A physics-based moat worth protecting. C-FREE™ is not a software feature. It is a validated, patent-protected approach to cell handling that no competitor has replicated in 60 years of trying. You are architecting on top of a genuine scientific differentiator.
  • A platform that is not yet built. The convergence of hardware, software, AI, and cloud orchestration is defined in direction but open in execution. This is an architect's opportunity, not a maintenance role.
  • A globally distributed, high-caliber team. R&D spans Singapore, Seoul, and Shanghai. Commercial presence extends to the US and Europe. The team is lean, technically deep, and operating at a pace that rewards clarity over politics.

Curiox Biosystems develops innovative solutions for cell analysis by automating and standardizing sample preparation with its C-FREE™ technology. Targeting the life science research and pharmaceutical markets, their systems and consumables enhance workflows in areas such as immunology and drug discovery, making processes faster and more reproducible.
