POSITION SUMMARY:

The VP of Business Development is responsible for leading the creation and execution of innovative strategies to expand Alice and Olivia’s brand reach. This includes driving high-impact partnerships and collaborations, launching new product categories, and overseeing strategic licensing initiatives. The role demands close alignment with marketing and product teams to ensure all business development activities support the company’s strategic objectives. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Creative Strategy & Brand Collaborations: Lead the ideation, negotiation, and management of brand partnerships and collaborations with fashion and lifestyle partners ensuring initiatives amplify brand storytelling, drive relevance, and deliver measurable impact.
•    Brand Positioning & Alignment: Work closely with marketing and product teams to enhance brand positioning and ensure all business development activities align with strategic objectives.
•    Expansion & Licensing: Identify and launch licensing opportunities in emerging product categories (e.g., home, beauty, accessories), overseeing agreements and contract negotiations to diversify and grow revenue streams while maintaining brand integrity and profitability.
•    Market & Trend Analysis: Continuously monitor industry trends, consumer insights, and competitive activity to inform partnership and licensing strategies.
•    Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with design, merchandising, retail, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives.
•    Partnership Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external partners, retailers, licensors, and stakeholders to maximize collaboration outcomes.
•    Financial Oversight: Drive sustainable revenue growth and brand equity through effective management of licensing deals and contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Experience: 10+ years in brand partnerships, licensing, or business development within fashion, luxury, or lifestyle industries.
•    Strategic Vision: Proven ability to conceptualize and execute creative strategies that elevate brand positioning.
•    Negotiation Skills: Strong track record of structuring and closing complex licensing and collaboration agreements.
•    AI Proficiency: The ability to effectively understand, use, and apply artificial intelligence tools and concepts to improve work quality, efficiency, and decision-making.
•    Leadership: Exceptional ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
•    Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of fashion, consumer trends, and the evolving landscape of brand collaborations.
•    Analytical Acumen: Strong financial and analytical skills to evaluate partnership ROI and licensing opportunities.

$150,000 - $180,000 base salary (This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this NYC - based position. The base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other AO employees.)
