How You’ll make an Impact

We are seeking a visionary leader and technical expert for the role of Vice President, Global Field Engineering. This role will report to the SVP, Global Presales and will be responsible for building a team to define and execute the strategy required to drive technical scale across the global presales organization at Boomi, focusing on technical depth in Integration, API Management, Data Management, and Agentic AI.

The Field Engineering team will serve as the architectural and technical conscience of the pre-sales team, implementing repeatable, high-leverage processes and assets that enable the entire global presales team to have access to deep technical experts so we can grow efficiently, increase technical win rates, and dramatically accelerate the time-to-value for enterprise customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Technical Strategy for Scale: Implement a Field Engineering operating model focused on maximum leverage, utilizing tiered support structures, standardized technical playbooks and reference architectures, and self-service technical resources to support explosive growth, across functions, without proportional headcount increase.

  • Automation & Efficiency: Spearhead initiatives to automate and streamline repetitive technical sales motions and building mechanisms to accelerate technical win such as hands on workshops.

  • Global Consistency: Establish and enforce a single, global standard of technical excellence, ensuring that the same high-quality architectural guidance and platform positioning are delivered consistently across all markets and regions.

  • Expertise in Agentic Systems: Partnering with AI COE to scale the presales team on best practices for designing, securing, and governing production-ready AI agent workflows and LLM integrations at enterprise scale.

  • Expertise in Data Management: Provide deep architectural mentorship on complex Master Data Management (MDM) and data integration sales cycles, ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards (e.g., data residency, GDPR).

  • Technical Escalation & Validation: Serve as the ultimate technical escalation point for the most challenging and highest-value deals, providing expert architectural validation and technical assurance to CTOs and Enterprise Architects.

  • Product-Market Fit: Collaborate intensely with Product Management and Engineering to ensure the platform roadmap is informed by the most critical, recurring, and technically challenging customer requirements necessary to unlock new market segments and scale adoption.

The Experience You Bring

  • Experience: 15+ years leading deeply technical, global teams.

  • Technical Depth for Scale: Proven track record of successfully scaling a high-growth technical sales organization, evidenced by the development and implementation of technical processes and tools that increased team leverage and efficiency.

  • Expert Domain Knowledge: Deep, verifiable architectural expertise in at least two of the following core Boomi domains: iPaaS/Integration, Master Data Management (MDM), or AI/Agent Orchestration frameworks.

  • Architectural Credibility: Exceptional ability to conduct complex technical whiteboarding sessions, discuss system internals, and provide credible technical guidance to Enterprise Architects and C-level technology executives.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Demonstrated success in leading an organization through a major technological pivot (e.g., shifting from on-prem to cloud, or adding AI capabilities to a core product).

  • Strong history of leveraging AI/ML tools to improve pre-sales efficacy and drive organizational scale.

Boomi is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  The On Target Earnings (OTE) for this role are $331K - $413K (inclusive of commission).
