Ventilation Technician

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Ventilation Technician, will ensure safe air quality and maintain compliance with underground ventilation requirements to keep workers safe. They will work within the ventilation team, to make changes to the underground ventilation controls and aid in survey work.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Ensuring drop board regulators (DBR) are correct for each shift to maintain proper flow.
• Turn secondary fans on and off inline with ventilation management plan and active activities
• Conduct ventilation surveys to ensure all areas have adequate air flow.
• Testing for hazardous gases and dust to prevent health and safety risks.
• Support maintenance of ventilation equipment
• Responsible of housekeeping ventilation laydown
• Ensure correct barricades/signage are in place for unventilated areas
• Ensure Stop and thinks, pre-start checks are completed prior to start of work.
• Always maintain proper manual handling.
• Wear PPE (hard hats, safety glass, self-rescuers, etc) are worn at all times in the required areas.
• Report hazards and Incidents always

• Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
• At least High School Graduate
• At least with driving Experience for Light Vehicle
• Driver’s License
• Basic knowledge of mining operations
• Light Vehicle driving
• Ability to deal with different attitudes and behaviors of other employees
• Have confidence and trust of others through demonstration of Company values
