This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled VBA Developer to support a strategic client engagement. We are seeking someone with proven experience in building VBA calculations based on account transaction histories. The ideal candidate will be proficient in processing large transaction datasets and have a strong understanding of interest calculations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement defined interest calculation logic of customer transaction histories

  • Design and develop modular, maintainable VBA codebases within Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Automate data processing tasks and reporting workflows using advanced VBA scripting.

  • Implement field-level and cross-file data validation checks to ensure data integrity and consistency.

  • Integrate VBA solutions with external data sources (e.g., databases, web services) using OLEDB/ADO.

  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to deploy and maintain solutions in production environments.

  • Manage version control and documentation for VBA scripts and macros.

Required Skills & Experience:

Calculations & Transactions

  • Good understanding of interest calculations and proficient in implementation in VBA

  • Experience with customer transaction histories e.g. initial loan, interest accrual and payment transactions

  • Understanding of remediation calculations based on either commission or interest

Core VBA Development

  • Advanced proficiency in VBA for Excel, Access, and Outlook.

  • Strong understanding of error handling and debugging techniques.

  • Experience in modular code design for scalability and maintainability.

Data Handling & Transformation

  • Expertise in automating bulk data ingestion and transformation within Excel.

  • Familiarity with schema validation, cleansing routines, and dynamic reporting.

  • Experience with rule-based logic and custom validation frameworks.

API & Integration

  • Experience integrating VBA with external systems via OLEDB/ADO or XML/JSON.

  • Ability to manage file I/O operations and automate multi-file processing tasks.

  • Understanding of authentication protocols and secure data handling.

Deployment & Maintenance

  • Familiarity with version control practices for VBA (e.g., Git with exported modules).

  • Experience in documenting and maintaining VBA solutions in regulated environments.

  • Ability to configure environments and manage dependencies across Office applications.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in financial services or regulated environments

  • Able to work independently and manage deliverables in a fast-paced setting

  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement
