Value Builder Growth

AI overview

The Value Builder Growth role combines marketing expertise and deep knowledge in growth and conversion optimization to drive measurable impact through tailored client solutions.

The Value Builder Growth Role in Exelab’s Tailor-Made Solutions

At Exelab, we don’t sell a single off-the-shelf product – we build custom, innovative solutions that directly target our clients’ unique business objectives. Each client engagement is essentially treated as a mini product development cycle: we start from a specific business goal or problem and craft a tailor-made solution (which might involve software, AI models, systems integration, etc.) to deliver measurable business impact.

The Value Builder Growth is a specialized role that combines the value-creation capabilities of our standard Value Builder with deep vertical expertise in growth, digital marketing, and conversion optimization. This role operates in two main modes: as the lead on projects with a predominant marketing/growth component, or as a strategic growth resource within larger teams, bringing vertical expertise to support other Value Builders on complex initiatives.

Beyond client projects, the Value Builder Growth actively contributes to Exelab’s own growth and internal product development, applying the same methodologies and analytical rigor used for clients. This requires rapid context-switching, adapting approach and methodology to each challenge’s specific requirements, while maintaining relentless focus on measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities

The Value Builder Growth will drive growth-focused success across our AI-enabled solutions. Core responsibilities include:

  • Growth Strategy & Product Vision: Collaborate with business analysts and clients to understand commercial challenges and competitive context. Define growth strategies that directly link marketing initiatives to business KPIs: acquisition cost, conversion rate, customer lifetime value, retention. Identify the most effective growth levers in each client’s specific context, rapidly distinguishing where to invest versus where deeper analysis is unnecessary.

  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Read numbers with natural fluency, identifying patterns, anomalies, and opportunities. Distinguish meaningful signals from statistical noise and translate quantitative insights into concrete actions. Go beyond descriptive reporting: build hypotheses, test them, and iterate based on results.

  • High-Impact Campaign Design: Think at a high level about campaigns and growth initiatives, defining the strategic framework before diving into execution. Not a creative – a strategist who can evaluate the potential impact of different initiatives and allocate resources where they generate maximum return. Know when an A/B test is necessary and when existing data is sufficient to decide.

  • UX & Conversion Rate Optimization: Possess deep sensitivity for user experience and its relationship with conversion performance. Identify friction points in funnels, propose optimization interventions, and measure their effectiveness. Understand the psychological dynamics that drive user decisions and apply them in solution design.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: During development phases, work in continuous synchronization with developers and designers, maintaining constant communication throughout the workday. This intensive collaboration leverages modern development approaches that enable rapid iteration. When embedded in larger teams to provide growth expertise, coordinate effectively with the lead Value Builder and Project Manager.

  • Internal Exelab Growth: Actively contribute to Exelab’s growth initiatives and internal product development. Apply the same rigorous methodologies used for clients, transforming Exelab itself into a laboratory for experimentation and continuous learning.

  • Metrics Tracking & Continuous Iteration: Define KPIs and success metrics from the start of every initiative. Continuously monitor performance, conduct qualitative analysis by observing actual solution usage in client environments. This dual approach – quantitative and qualitative – drives continuous improvements and ensures solutions produce real impact.

In summary, the Value Builder Growth at Exelab treats every project as a growth-first product, with clear vision, defined metrics, and obsessive focus on results. They combine high-level strategic thinking with execution capability, always guided by data and oriented toward measurable business impact.

Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile – Skills and Experience

Our ideal candidate is an experienced growth professional who can seamlessly blend strategic marketing expertise with hands-on implementation capability. Given Exelab’s dynamic project-based work, we are looking for someone who has not only strategized growth but also built and executed initiatives personally. Below are the key characteristics and qualifications we expect:

  • Growth & Digital Marketing Expertise: Solid experience in growth marketing roles, with a demonstrable track record of measurable results. Deep knowledge of digital marketing levers: paid acquisition, SEO, email marketing, marketing automation, CRO. Ability to think strategically about campaigns, evaluating their potential impact before investing in execution. Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools, ideally HubSpot.

  • Analytical Skills & Data-Driven Mindset: Natural ability to read and interpret data, rapidly identifying where to dig deeper and where the numbers speak clearly. Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics or similar). Ability to build dashboards and monitoring systems. Comfort with basic statistical analysis to validate hypotheses and measure result significance.

  • UX Sensitivity & Conversion Optimization: Deep understanding of user experience dynamics and their impact on conversions. Experience in funnel and landing page optimization. Ability to identify friction points and propose solutions based on behavioral design principles. Familiarity with testing and experimentation methodologies.

  • Hands-On Implementation Experience: Practical background in building and launching growth initiatives. May come from roles like Growth Manager, Head of Growth at startups/scale-ups, or entrepreneurial experiences. We’re looking for someone who has “gotten their hands dirty” and can point to specific initiatives they personally drove to results. Not coordinators who delegated the operational work.

  • Learning Agility & Adaptability: Exceptional ability to rapidly learn and master new domains and business contexts. Every project brings different challenges: the ideal candidate is energized by this variety rather than intimidated. Willingness to learn and use AI tools to enhance their activities.

  • Leadership & Communication: Ability to communicate complex insights clearly to both technical and business stakeholders. Skill in guiding through influence rather than authority, maintaining productive relationships during intense collaboration periods. Strong character to manage talented but sometimes challenging team members. Native Italian and at least B2-level English required.

  • Results-Oriented Mindset: Natural bias toward action and measurable outcomes rather than process and documentation. Comfort with rapid iteration and ability to adapt quickly based on feedback and data. Understanding that success is measured in business impact generated, not features released or documents produced.
