FIGS is looking for an exceptional UX Research Manager to join the Ecommerce Team and lead the growth and delivery of user experience research across the organization. The UX Research Manager will serve as the operational backbone of the team’s research function, owning and executing studies, testing, and surveys that drive measurable business impact. This role will define and scale the user research practice by developing frameworks, tools, and processes that generate deep behavioral insights to accelerate ecommerce growth.

The position combines scientific rigor with creativity, balancing qualitative and quantitative research to uncover opportunities that advance the business and brand while heavily supporting the User Experience Design team in product testing and evaluation. Grounded in social science and guided by industry best practices, the UX Research Manager will translate data into actionable insights, ensuring that research outcomes directly inform design and product direction.

As an advocate for FIGS customers and the broader healthcare community, the UX Research Manager will champion customer needs across the entire digital experience. The role is highly collaborative, working with Product, UX Design, Engineering, Data, and Marketing to foster a culture of research excellence, strategic insight, and customer empathy. The UX Research Manager will report to the Director of UI/UX.

What you’ll do:

  • Champion user research and customers by translating healthcare professionals’ real-world experiences into better digital shopping solutions.
  • Serve as FIGS’ foremost advocate for understanding and representing the customer.
  • Lead research strategy across FIGS digital products, identifying opportunities that drive innovation, usability, and conversion.
  • Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative studies, including remote and in-person interviews, participant recruitment, data analysis, surveys, A/B testing, and usability testing.
  • Measure and communicate the impact of research, connecting insights to key metrics in line with company goals
  • Synthesize insights into clear narratives that inform design, product, and executive decisions
  • Build and operationalize research infrastructure, including tools, AI solutions, vendors, participant panels, and knowledge repositories.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, UX Design, Engineering, Marketing, and Data teams to align research priorities with business objectives and revenue goals.
  • Coach and mentor UX and Product teammates on research best practices, embedding rigor and curiosity across the Ecommerce Team.

About You:

  • 5–8 years of experience in UX Research or related fields (Human Factors, Psychology, HCI, Analytics, UX Design).
  • Proven experience in eCommerce and consumer-facing digital experiences.
  • Skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methods (usability testing, interviews, surveys, analytics, A/B testing).
  • Proficiency with Figma and common UX research tools; familiarity with basic statistical analysis.
  • Experience recruiting and managing niche participant panels (bonus points if you have experience with healthcare professionals)
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights that influence product and business decisions.
  • Strong collaboration skills partnering with Product, Design, Engineering, Data, and Marketing teams.
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation skills, including experience sharing insights with executives.
  • Strong project management abilities and comfort balancing multiple research streams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, curiosity, and a strong user-first approach.

FIGS Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range

  • At FIGS, your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. This role's base salary range is between $135,000 and $165,000. Actual base salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
