Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced UX Manager to lead and oversee a team of designers working on multiple client accounts as an embedded team. This role is pivotal in driving Koru UX Design's growth and client success, ensuring our design solutions not only meet but exceed client expectations. As a UX Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of UX projects, maintaining high design standards, and fostering strong client relationships. You will act as the key liaison between the client and our design team, ensuring that our solutions are aligned with client goals and delivered with excellence.

Requirements

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 2 years in leading and managing UX teams, preferably within an agency or service-based business.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your UX design work, including projects where you have led teams or managed client accounts.

Leadership & Client Management:

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire design teams to deliver their best work.
  • Experience working directly with clients, managing expectations, and delivering solutions that align with their business goals.

Project Management & Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficient in UX design tools and methodologies, with a solid understanding of product development principles.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration, particularly with development and product management teams, to ensure seamless integration of design and development processes.

Communication & Problem-Solving:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the value of UX to non-design stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align UX efforts with business and client goals.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Must have experience in B2B products and enterprise applications.
  • Experience in the HealthTech industry is a plus.

Key Responsibilities 

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of UX/UI designers, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback to ensure high-quality work.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation, skill development, and the adoption of best practices.
  • Manage key UX artifacts, including user journeys, personas, UX research, and UX measurement frameworks, ensuring their consistent and effective use across projects.

Client Partnership & Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their business objectives, user needs, and design challenges.
  • Integrate seamlessly into client teams, acting as an embedded partner to align UX strategies with their workflows and processes.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners to ensure design efforts align with the client's vision and product roadmap, and to shape product strategy through UX insights.
  • Communicate design decisions and project progress clearly to client stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and managing expectations.

Project Management & Oversight:

  • Oversee multiple design projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and meet client expectations.
  • Develop and implement UX strategies that align with client goals and drive innovation.
  • Allocate design resources effectively, ensuring balanced workloads and timely project completion.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all design deliverables meet high standards of usability, accessibility, and visual design.
  • Implement rigorous testing processes, including peer reviews and usability testing, to ensure flawless functionality.
