UX Designer (Mid-Level)

Johannesburg , South Africa

AI overview

Join a newly formed delivery pod to shape user-centred digital experiences while collaborating with diverse teams and adapting to evolving project scopes.

Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: April 30, 2026 with potential to extend
Work set-up: 100% remote

We’re hiring a UX Designer to join one of several workstreams within a newly formed delivery pod. You’ll collaborate closely with Service Designers, BAs, and engineers to shape intuitive, user-centred experiences aligned to governance, work arrangement, data management, or AI-related initiatives. Project allocation is still being confirmed, so we’re looking for someone who is adaptable, comfortable with shifting priorities, and confident designing within evolving problem spaces.

We are hiring for multiple roles and have a strong preference for candidates who have previously worked together as part of the same squad or pod. While individual applications are welcome, we’re especially interested in people who apply together as ready-made teams. If you have colleagues you’ve successfully partnered with before (UX, SD, BA), please apply as a group or reference them in your application.

This role suits someone who brings a thoughtful, product-minded approach to UX, someone who can take service-level thinking and translate it into structured flows, screens, and interactions that stand up in real-world delivery.

What You Will Do

  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction specifications.
  • Work closely with Service Designers to translate service blueprints into actionable UX experiences.
  • Collaborate with BAs to ensure logic, dependencies, and requirements are reflected in the UI.
  • Contribute to research, usability testing, and iteration.
  • Work within established design principles, tooling, and team frameworks.
  • Operate effectively within a pod environment, ideally with colleagues you’ve worked with previously.
  • Evolve your work as project scopes and workstreams become fully defined.
  • Proven experience designing UX for digital products or complex workflows.
  • Strong interaction design, flow logic, wireframing, and prototyping skills.
  • Ability to translate service-level thinking into detailed user experiences.
  • Experience with data-heavy, enterprise, or governance-related products (preferred).
  • Strong communicator who collaborates confidently in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Comfortable working with changing requirements and ambiguous briefs.
  • Strong preference for candidates who have worked with familiar teammates in previous pods or squads.

Candidates must be legally authorized to live and work in the country the position is based in, without requiring sponsorship.

We appreciate your interest in this opportunity. Please note only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
