What is Jar?

Jar is a savings app that helps its users save daily in the form of digital gold — we wish to help Indians rediscover the long-term benefits of habitual daily savings in an era where instant gratification is king. 

Jar was founded by Nishchay AG, former director and founding member at mobility start-up Bounce, and Misbah Ashraf, founder of community-focused e-commerce platform Marsplay.

What does Jar do?

Jar is building a micro-wealth management platform, one step at a time — starting with micro savings, financial literacy, micro investments, and encouraging people to habituate the act of saving.

About The Role -

Jar is seeking a talented User Researcher to join our Team. If you are intellectually curious to understand your users with an empathetic approach, and are committed to translating data to insights & insights to actionable work items, want new challenges daily and impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of users, this is the role for you!

The role will encompass use of the different types of research (quantitative and qualitative) - usability, ethnography, CI, etc. You would be also working on documentation of the said research and heuristic Principles

Responsibilities

  • Distill project goals and research questions along with well-thought-out plans.
  • Partner with product owners, designers, writers and engineers to scope, plan and execute qualitative research to understand users across the Jar ecosystem.
  • Provide continuous and actionable insights to the product teams regularly on how the UX can be improved by analysing and summarising the research insights into actionable guidance.
  • Document and communicate user insights across the company in a structured fashion through written reports, storyboards and presentations.
  • Conduct user research at every product lifecycle stage, from identifying unmet user needs to conceptualization and prototype validations. This includes conducting user interviews (telephonic) ethnographic field studies, contextual discovery, concept tests, surveys, card sorting, cognitive walkthroughs, VoC studies, and UAT.
  • Work with product teams on validating the initial hypothesis, running experiments, surveys, and workshops with Users.

Requirements

  • 1.5-3 years UXR full time / User Research Experience.
  • Proven record of influencing product direction and strategy with actionable insights.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g. design, product management etc).
  • Being a problem-solver. You love finding out you're wrong.
  • Consuming large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data to constantly refine your assumptions.
  • Communicating about any questions/problems/ideas/suggestions, asking for feedback and sharing feedback easily.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite.
