Are you looking for a rewarding new opportunity where you can make a real difference — and no two days are ever the same?
We currently have a vacancy within our Urgent Care Team for a Base Team Lead, working 30 hours per week, including alternate weekends and a variety of shifts.
Based at our Head Office in Chippenham, with regular travel to our four operational bases across the county (Chippenham, Keynsham, Salisbury and Swindon), this role offers plenty of variety and the chance to make a meaningful impact every day.
Experience in an operational role within a healthcare environment is desirable, along with strong attention to detail.
About the Role
As a Base Team Lead, you will work closely with the Assistant Operations Manager, fellow Team Leads, and your allocated base to support the Urgent Care Team in delivering a high‑quality, 24/7 service to our patients and service users.
You will have line management responsibility for a team of approximately 6–20 staff, overseeing recruitment, HR processes, induction, training, and ongoing support.
You will ensure that agreed working practices are followed consistently across the team and that patient care remains central to everything we do.
We are looking for someone who is calm, focused, and an excellent communicator, someone who can work autonomously and use their knowledge, judgement, and initiative to support both internal and external stakeholders. You will also be expected to follow established instructions, procedures, and protocols to help maintain the effective and efficient running of the service.
The Urgent Care Base Team Lead plays a key role as a professional and responsive point of contact for health and social care professionals, while also supporting other functions within both the Call Centre and Out‑of‑Hours bases. You will help provide a high‑quality interface between stakeholders and ensure that our bases are well maintained, with all quality checks completed and documented in line with compliance requirements.
Please note: as we operate 24/7, 365 days a year, a flexible approach to working hours is essential. Our rolling shift pattern includes days, weekends, overnights, and Bank Holidays.
A copy of the shift pattern can be provided on request and discussed further at interview.

Headquartered in London, HealthHero marries human expertise with digital convenience to provide fully holistic virtual healthcare. Built on the foundations of established companies with proven sector and country expertise, combined with best-in-class digital technology, HealthHero is now the largest digital healthcare provider in Europe, delivering 24/7 access to doctors and expert clinicians wherever and whenever it is needed via a suite of tools including video calls, online chats and phone. HealthHero is on track to build one of the largest digital health players in the world through a combination of buy-and-build and scale up of an existing portfolio through organic execution. While there are multiple small players with specific offering in digital health, we have established that there is a very significant opportunity to build a scale player that provides a holistic, integrated offering in virtual primary care. The market timing is compelling, and the need is pronounced across multiple segments- some we are present in and others we are entering through further acquisitions. HealthHero currently operates across UK, Ireland and Germany and is backed by pan-European investment house MARCOL. We are looking to build a high calibre team to deliver this plan.
