The Head of Games will contribute effectively throughout the full lifecycle of new game projects, from ideation to launch, to create innovative and successful mobile music games. You will drive the game design vision, ensuring that our games are not only engaging but also commercially successful.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Market Exploration & Player Insight Utilization: Actively explore the mobile game market, leveraging player behavior data, feedback, and trends to suggest improvements, features, and mechanics that align with the audience’s evolving needs.
Game Concept Translation: Translate design concepts and ideas into high-quality game executions. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that the vision for the game is realized effectively.
Team Brainstorming & Design Solutions: Lead brainstorming sessions with cross-functional teams, consolidate ideas, and propose innovative and scalable design solutions that align with business and player goals.
Game Design Strategy: Work with marketing, product, and development teams to develop a cohesive game design strategy that ensures a balanced core loop, rewarding player progression, and strong monetization pathways.
Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor the game team, ensuring alignment on goals, strategies, and vision. Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery of high-quality products.
Innovation: Constantly identify new trends, gameplay mechanics, and game features to enhance user experience and differentiate our games in the competitive mobile music game space.
QUALIFICATIONS
Working experiences:
At least 4 years of experience as a game designer at senior manager or head level
Proven experience in game design, core loop development, and monetization design across multiple revenue models (ads, in-app purchases, and hybrid models).
Experience working in music games is a strong plus, as well as experience in transitioning games from hyper-casual to hybrid models.
Leadership experience in managing and growing a team of designers.
SKILLS
In-depth Knowledge of Game Design: Strong understanding of core game design principles, including player motivation, core loops, MDA frameworks, economy balancing, and monetization models.
Analytical Expertise: Ability to critically analyze and deconstruct existing games. Understand both the strengths and weaknesses of game mechanics and design.
Data-Informed Decision Making: Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work in a data-driven environment. Comfort with using player data, metrics, and analytics to make informed design decisions.
Effective Communication: Ability to pitch ideas clearly, with detailed concepts, both verbally and visually. Strong written communication skills for documentation, presentations, and cross-team collaboration.
User Experience & Psychology: A good sense of user experience design and understanding of user psychology to craft engaging and intuitive game experiences.
English Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to collaborate with global teams and partners.
