We’re looking for an

Underwriting Assistant, Casualty Insurance

 

Reporting to the SVP, Head of Casualty Insurance, you will support the administration of Hamilton Re’s Casualty Insurance portfolio.


Hamilton Re is our Bermuda insurer underwriting property, casualty and specialty insurance and reinsurance on a global basis.


What you will do

  • Provide underwriting administrative support associated with the lifecycle of a submission, including data entry, data downloads, file preparation and document management
  • Conduct contract reviews and analysis of data in our underwriting system and other relevant business systems
  • Liaise with underwriting and operations teams to ensure data is processed timely, accurately and in accordance with compliance rules
  • Ensure department meets financial reporting and system deadlines
  • Ensure timely logging and accuracy of all underwriting data within the underwriting and other relevant business systems
  • Prepare documentation to support Underwriters
  • Assist in administration and management reporting of portfolios
  • Contribute to system testing, ad hoc projects and research work

What you require for the role

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role; preferably within Casualty Insurance
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar deal management system
  • Strong work ethic with superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently within a small team, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Ability to leverage data and technology to improve processes
