Underground Maintenance Clerk

TLDR

Provide critical logistical and data management support to maintenance teams, ensuring compliance, efficient workflows, and optimal resource management in the high-stakes mining industry.

Provide support to the maintenance teams ensuring data management, work management compliance, logistical support while supporting the Leading hand and Supervisor to maximize their time on the Workshop floor.

Safety

  • Ensures personal and team compliance with all company HSE requirements & policies including Fitness for Work.
  • Completes any HSE tasks only if the hazards and any potential consequences are understood and any corrections are firstly agreed by the relevant Supervisor.
  • Recording of and communication of hazard reports.

Production

  • Supporting all aspects of preventative maintenance activities.
  • Accurate recording of work order information and closeout in Pronto.
  • Create work requests in Pronto (Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS))
  • Liaising with the Planning team on Workorders and upcoming tasks.
  • Management of downtime events in the fleet management system.
  • Completing fleet management data change request.
  • Management of parts ordering and follow up with OEM and Freight companies.
  • Staging of parts for planned work.
  • Communication with Security and assist with access to after hours parts in the warehouse.
  • Verify contractor time sheets with gate times daily.
  • Collect, scan and file signed equipment prerelease documentation.  
  • Ensure documentation, maintenance and service records for equipment are complete and kept up to date.
  • Work as requested by the underground Maintenance Supervisors.

  • Actively seeks cost reduction opportunities and identifies & reports any cost wastage within designated area.

 

  • 2 years relevant work experience in heavy industry
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously from time to time.
  • High attention to detail with good time management skills.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills.
  • Computer Literacy,
  • Advanced Pronto skill level and basic Microsoft Office .
  • Drivers License essential.
  • Forklift qualifications highly desirable
  • Work in accordance with MSHA, Oceana Safety System, Safety Policies and Procedures and Oceana Environment policies and all departmental operating procedures.
