This is a unique opportunity to join as a UI/UX Engineer and collaborate directly with the founding team to architect and implement transformative user experiences for AI applications in commodity markets. You will own the design and development of intuitive interfaces that bring complex data to life, define the visual and experiential identity of the product suite, and contribute to critical decisions shaping the company's technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize high-performance, customer-facing user interfaces using Next.js, React, and TypeScript with a focus on accessibility, responsiveness, and seamless interaction patterns
  • Integrate sophisticated AI capabilities into frontend experiences, including natural language interfaces, conversational AI components, agentic workflows, and real-time data visualizations
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and design stakeholders to deliver scalable applications handling complex commodity market data
  • Prototype, test, and refine UI components and user workflows with meticulous attention to detail, maintainability, and design system consistency
  • Contribute to product strategy and roadmap development while mentoring team members, with a clear pathway to UI/Design Leadership

Requirements

Essential

  • 3–5 years of professional frontend engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in Next.js, React, and TypeScript
  • Proven track record designing and shipping polished, production-ready user interfaces for customer-facing applications
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML components into frontend applications (LLM APIs, chat interfaces, generative AI features, or assistive AI elements)
  • Strong command of web performance optimization techniques, accessibility standards (WCAG), and modern testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
  • Product-oriented mindset with ability to take ownership from concept through deployment in fast-paced, early-stage environments
  • Must be based in New York City and available for full-time, on-site work

Preferred

  • Experience building data-intensive or analytics-heavy applications with complex visualization requirements
  • Background in fintech, commodities, trading platforms, or B2B enterprise software
  • Familiarity with design systems development and component library architecture
  • Proficiency with modern AI-assisted development tools and workflows
