Role Summary
Sophos is looking for a talented Full Stack Developer (Front End Heavy) to join the NSG engineering team. In this role you will be part of an innovative engineering team, building and maintaining a web framework for the next generation firewall product. Your skills and experience will be put to good use in continually modernising, scaling, upgrading existing web platforms that keeps pace with a fast-moving industry. We have a highly collaborative organisation where you work within and across teams to architect/design/maintain a network security product that protects millions of end users.
What you will do
- Build reusable, well-documented, extensible code including unit tests.
- Create estimates and work plans then deliver according to those plans in an agile manner.
- Build core components and framework to integrate with existing web applications.
- Working with Project Managers, UX Designers, Architects, Testers for requirements, design, development and quality delivery.
- Take personal ownership of problems and drive them to solutions.
- Maintain and develop new features for the various different Network Security solutions.
- Explore new ways to overcome limitations in existing web framework.
- Participate in technical design and review.
- Participate in problem analysis and help resolve technical problems.
- Participate in mentoring, code reviews and pair programming.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Regular Scrum, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.
What you will bring
- Must have
- 4-6 years of strong experience in UI development
- In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, ES6, TypeScript, Node.JS
- Experience with modern UI framework like Angular, React, Vue etc.
- Working knowledge of TDD, BDD frameworks like Jasmin, Jest or equivalent other frameworks
- In-depth understanding of HTML DOM, CSS, SASS, jQuery, HTTP/S, REST-API, JSON, Application security and Linux OS
- Experience in building re-usable components and widgets
- Good to have
- Working experience of Core Java and java based technologies (JSP, Servlet, Spring boot).
- Working knowledge of RxJX, Redux.
- Experience in working with any Relational Database Management Systems like MySql, PostgresSQL, SQLite
- CI/CD and DevOps process understanding
