Role Overview  

W Engineering is a dedicated engineering org for Coupang core business in Taiwan. The team has end-to-end ownership of the systems, and we are working with local business stakeholders, product team very closely to wow the customers and scale the business. We develop and maintain scalable and sustainable platforms to empower our business, including but not limited to Search Advertising Platform, Affiliate Platform, Display targeting & re-targeting Platform, CRM, Audience Platform, Push Marketing Platform, and other core marketing services for landing, tracking, personalization & attribution. We leverage big data, NoSQL, analytics, real-time processing and Machine Learning to build mission-critical and highly scalable services that are reliable 24/7.

• Architect, design and build scalable systems that will have a direct impact on customer acquisition, experience, conversion and retention

l  Develop close relationships with Product and tech team in China and Korea l  Establish and execute short and long-term architectural roadmaps for the businessl  Drive continuous improvement to the efficiency and flexibility of the platform and services while keeping high bar for customer trust, performance and availability

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent fields 
• 7+ years of solid experience in software development and architecture design in large distributed systems, web services and Java capability
• Knowledge of container and cloud-native development, such as Kubernetes, Docker etc.; familiar with monitoring tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana etc.
• Experienced in designing and implementing high-concurrency, high-availability and high-scalability systems
• Familiar with distributed system, microservice architecture & design, and message queue, cache, database etc. core backend knowledge
• Growth mindset, company-wide perspective. Focus on business problem solving, and data-driven
• Strong competency in delivering results in an environment of rapidly changing requirements with appropriate trade-offs 
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and dive deep

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in eCommerce industry
• Experience in building application on basis of LLM capabilities is a big plus
• Experienced in Catalog/Product management system and big data processing skills
• Fluent English communication
