Program Objective: TUBITAK’s 2232-B International Young Researchers Program aims to attract researchers with international work experience who have conducted high-level scientific or technological studies to Turkey. The program seeks to enhance Turkey's academic and industrial research capacity, particularly in strategic fields like artificial intelligence. Application Requirements:
  • Education and Experience:
  • Must have completed a PhD within the last 4 years and have at least 1 year of postdoctoral research experience abroad. OR Must have at least 4 years of full-time work experience after undergraduate studies, including at least 1 year in the private sector.
  • Age Limit:
  • Must be under 40 years old as of the application date. (An additional 1 year is granted per childbirth for female candidates.)
  • Residency in Turkey:
  • Must not have spent more than 9 months in Turkey in total within the last 3 years (excluding force majeure or compulsory military service).
  • Research Quality:
  • Must be listed in Thomson Reuters’ “Highly Cited Researchers List.” OR Must have worked for a total of 12 months at an institution ranked in the top 150 in QS or THE rankings.OR Must have 12 months of experience in distinguished institutions listed in Scimago or by the European Commission.
    The TÜBİTAK 2232-B International Young Researchers Program provides extensive support to researchers and their families, including:
  • Research Startup Fund to facilitate initial project requirements.
  • Monthly Living Allowance for the researcher and additional family support for spouses and children.
  • Travel Support covering relocation expenses for the researcher and their family.
  • Team Building Assistance to fund graduate students and postdoctoral researchers involved in the project.
  • Health Insurance for the researcher and their dependents.
  • Institutional Overhead Support for host organizations.

  • Support Duration:
  • Minimum: 24 months
  • Maximum: 36 months
  • Employment Opportunities
  • Successful researchers may be appointed to the following roles in Turkey after the support period:

  • Machine Learning Engineer: Focus on data processing and AI projects.
  • Frontend Developer (Vue.js): Work on user interface development and web/mobile projects.
  • Backend Developer (PHP & Go): Design and develop performance-oriented backend systems.
  • Employment options will be shaped according to the researcher’s success during the project and their field of expertise.
    Documents Required for Information/Document Control:
  • Letter of Commitment (An up to date letter of commitment concretely specifying the benefits that will be provided to the coordinator during the research period, and, in case the host institution is a university, containing course(s) to be lectured by him/her)
  • Work Experience Document (Document(s) proving that researchers have full-time research experience abroad (for example, a certificate of employment obtained from human resources showing the applicant’s position, working hours and duration of employment). The uploaded work certificate(s) must show the type and duration of experience specified in the application conditions.)
  • Diploma (Original or certified copy of the graduation certificate related to the application (A certified English translation must be submitted if the diploma is not in Turkish or English))
  • Residency Proof (Documents proving residency abroad as of the first day of the application (for international researchers, passport photocopy (all pages of the passport with a stamp) for the last 3 years, tax certificate, tenancy agreements or monthly utility bills; for researchers with Turkish citizenship, entry/exit records obtained from edevlet portal for the last 3 years as of the first day of the application; for researchers with dual citizenship entry/exit records taken from both countries)).
